Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. Hope your hotel is nice.
It's dry here, as was yesterday, and mild.
Nothing much going on here today, just the usual jobs.
Hope everyone is ok, take care folks.10 -
Morning All
Enjoy your breakfast Gers, hope you enjoyed the show.
Dry and mild again here this morning although school was freezing yesterday, there's no heating on over the weekend so Mondays are always cold.
It's the school Halloween party this evening, I'll help to set up the hall but that's about my limit - dealing with the children all day is one thing but dealing with very excited children dressed up at a party is another!
We may have some children off today as the tower block that has been evacuated with a bomb square is in our catchment and the residents have not been home all night. Scary stuff.
Hope everyone is well, happy Tuesday. Take care. XX10 -
Morning all. I'm still awake early after the clocks changing so got up at 7am.
Hope you've found a nice replacement hotel Gers
Today I'm off down the M1 to play folk tunes with a group of friends; we call ourselves The Quintet! It's a lovely time plus we all take some nice nibbles for lunch. My white bean dip is ok but not something I'd make again. Am going to cut up some peppers, carrots and cucumber to go with it so they might help. The spiced ginger cake is its usual delicious self though.
I'll have to get something to pop in the oven as I'm out again for Morris practice at 6.30pm and DH will have been helping DD with things for the Tip so won't have been around to sort a meal.
Hope everyone's day goes to plan. I'll fill up with petrol tonight in case of any price increases due to tomorrow's budget!8 -
Morning, hope you enjoyed the show Gers. Scary stuff Camelot, those poor people.
Yesterday we had a chap come to do a few jobs that OH couldn't do, gas work mainly and said man is registered gas safe. This meant me staying in another room with big dog. 1, so he didn't get in the way and 2, because he doesn't react well to strangers. We adopted him 18 months ago when he was just over a year old and he has come on really well in that time but he is still very nervous around men. Goodness knows what happened to him before he came to live with us, poor boy.
Today looks to be dry so some washing will be done. Don't know what's for dinner, will have a think later to see if there's something different I can do, I'm fed up of all the usual meals. Can you tell I'm feeling better?
Derek, I forgot to say thanks for coming to the aid of your friend and the dog, good job you were there to help.
Love and hugs to all who need them, take care all x9 -
@WL - the 'new' hotel is part of a chain, perfectly adequate but not as good as the lamented Grasshopper. The main advantage is that it's about 20 metres to one theatre and about 400m to another. 😀
Rocky Horror was very good. It's complete nonsense of course though so well done. Stand out performance (for me) was the Narrator who not only acted well but handled all the mostly vulgar heckling so well. This heckling is part of the tradition of the show. Anyway, I enjoyed it enormously, I hasn't seen it for at least 11 years so revisiting it was good. The coach trip down was smooth and comfortable. The final two miles took an extra 45 minutes because of two very small sets of roadworks on the route. As usual, nobody actually working. Now I'm fed and watered. Coach back is at midday so I will mooch about a bit.@Remmie - good to hear that you're on the mend.@Camelot - poor children.I hope that all are well.8 -
Morning all
It feels very cold here this morning but no rain due which is nice,, I have three people coming today and they have requested a trip to the cinema which is good for me too as I had a terrible sleep last night and was still awake at 3.30 this morning 🙄 so it might be a long day today !Not sure about dinner tonight will go and have a look after this it will be something quick I think, I need to run the hoover over this morning too.
I did a bit more online shopping for Christmas and birthdays yesterday, we have so many Birthdays in November which is not ideal but I am getting there, just need a few more and some stocking fillers.
Gers enjoy your breakfast xx
Camelot how scary for those poor people xx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Yesterday was so mild - outside jobs done in tshirt quite comfortably. It’s very damp though, not raining , just that general dampness of autumn. Managed to clean the campervan inside and out ready for a few days in N Wales starting tomorrow. For today, some craft stuff and general tidying/cleaning I think.Hope everyone has a good day

Hi everyone,
Laura couldn't get her passport sorted yesterday but has been told she'll have it today so they are booked on a flight early tomorrow. Esther is asking for her because she is in Peterborough and then asking for Esben and then daddy. She is insistent daddy is in Wales. Talking of Esther she picked up my hand yesterday, looked at the palm, said "Oh no" and toddled off to get some hand cream, I suppose I should be glad it wasn't my face she was commenting on.
We'll probably have a walk to the library this morning, they usually have some sort of crafty activity on for the children.
Have a good day.

Morning everyone Gers show sounds good as for roadworks I think best part of the country is dug up the road we go to hamsterley forest has a set of traffic lights and a tiny bit of road dug up and it’s been like that for over a year I think they have forgotten about it . Taff good to hear you are feeling a bit better and the work is still coming on . AA I have always wanted to go to wales and never got there anywhere in wales I’m not bothered I follow an author Simon mcleave and he always makes it sound wonderful especially Snowdonia unless you are getting murdered and of course it’s quite often on a place in the country. Camelot I hope those poor people manage to get into there homes soon how frightening for them . I’ve just got in from a cleaning job and having a cuppa I will decide what to do with the rest of the day in a minute probably housework and cooking I’m going to take the little dog out soon make the most of this fine weather hopefully save on the heating bills thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8
