Widows pension

Does anyone know what happens when you are receiving a widows pension and you become eligible for your state pension?

Do you mean that you are receiving a widow's pension from your late spouse's occupational pension scheme?

Was he already in receipt of his state pension when he died and if so when exactly did he reach SPA?

If not, when exactly would he have reached SPA?

Is the widow's pension the only  pension/salary that you currently receive?

Almost certainly nothing happens to the widows pension (assuming it is from a personal/occupational pension scheme) except that your PAYE code will change and you may pay some more tax.

Best to contact the pension provider who is paying the widow's pension. They will be able to confirm what (if anything) happens.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

In general nothing happens, you simply get SP in addition to whatever pensions you were getting previously. It is conceivable that your widows pension has special conditions but I have never seen such a situation mentioned in this forum.
