How do I sort this debt?

Hi, I will try to keep this as concise as possible.
I had a debt relief order in Jan. There were 2 debts on it. I recently had a change of circumstances which I duly notified the insolvency service of and the DRO was anulled. So I became liable for the debts again.
One of the creditors had already advised that the debt was being transferred to a different company. The new company stated the debt is with the Bankruptcy Exchange in their information letter.
As soon as my DRO was annulled, I contacted the new company who stated they couldn’t do anything as my debt was being help in the bankruptcy exchange, who would transfer it back to this company who would then be in touch. That hasn’t happened yet so I called again today to be told that I needed to arrange for notification of the annulment of my DRO to be sent. I spoke to the insolvency service and the person I spoke to said they couldn’t understand why the bankruptcy exchange had anything to do with my debt and they didn’t even think they were active anymore. They said the original creditor has been notified and that they thought I was trying too hard to sort it out and the debt may have been written off, altho that didn’t mean I definitely wouldn’t be chased for it at some point in the future. Would the original creditor notify this new company that the DRO was annulled?
I’m now in limbo with what to do as I can’t currently do anything but I don’t want to leave it hanging over me when it might resurface down the line.
A strange thing as well is the debt showed on my credit file when it was with the original creditor but it has now completely disappeared. I expected it to be there and in default but it’s just vanished 🤷🏻‍♀️
Does anyone have experience of this please or could advise what I am best to do. Should I ignore it and if so, what’s the likelihood it will come back to bite me, obv bearing in mind I do owe the money, I’m not trying to do anything fraudulent or dishonest. Or if I should keep trying, where do I go next as no one seems able to help me.
Thank you

I'm with the IS on this. It may well have died or be in the process of dying and you are trying hard to keep it alive.

Carry on with your life but have a small savings pot to make an offer if this genuinely becomes active. Whoever has the debt now probably paid a ridiculous fraction for it so a few pence in the £ would likely settle it.

I wholeheartedly agree with the above, you are trying far too hard to bring this debt back to life.

Let sleeping dogs lie, no one will be able to tell you anything with 100% certainty, as these things are dealt with in secret.

If you are written too in the future, then deal with it, unless or until that happens, carry on as normal and don`t give this untimely episode any more attention than it deserves.
