Daymade is it a con?

Options
I've just seen an ad for a competition service Daymade. It all looks professions (maybe too professional) but when you look a bit deeper the questions come. All their reviews are from October 2024 onwards with many reviewers leaving multiple reviews. You don't win the same comp regularly enough to leave so many reviews in quick succession, so are they true?

Also when you look at Companies House, they were a travel company until August 2024, how can they have had over 2 million purchases since then (they say they plant one tree a purchase)? Also although they have lots of picture of people looking like they are winning prizes, they don't actually say they are their winners.

Does anyone know anything about them, does it sound like a con?

what makes you think all the review are from october 24 and from the same people - have you looked at Trust Pilot?

I can't comment on the particular company but it seems ok to me - of course with these things you never know how many people are in each draw

Yet another site where you pay to enter their competitions all with usual  claims of fantastic odds - one thing is for sure these sites should make lots of money for the people running them.
  • Hi DE_612183

No you are right the reviews do go back beyond Oct 24, not sure when they switch to Daymade, all the early ones are from for something called Team-Triphunters, makes me even more concerned. Plus when you start to read through the reviews no one has won anything more than vouchers, any negative review gets the same standard reply from Violet.

And if they have been going for ages why aren't there any winners listed?

    I think I'll stay away.

The legal entity behind the website was called TH Travel Limited, which would tie in with Trip Hunters, and changed their name in August this year to Daymade Ltd

Terrible company, terrible customer service. They are only after your money!

Well, yes - thats how they make money - they are no in it for fun they have to make a profit.
  • I can see reviews dating back to 2019? Seems legit to me.. They've been around for ages and people can win more than once (most people do) because they work similar to a lottery, where you have lots of people winning small prizes.

They post winners on their Instagram every week and tag them most of the time.T hgey also have a whole page with winners. What makes you say they don't post winners? Seems like lots of people win holidays and smaller prizes tho but not really the big prizes like camper vans and stuff.

They used to only do competitions for holidays (their name was triphunters at the time) which is probably why they were listed as a travel company before. It's always been a prize draw. They started adding more non-travel prizes like EV's and gift vouchers recently so assume that's why name changed.
