Scottish Equitable

My Wife currently has a frozen company pension with Scottish Equitable. She has the option to continue paying into this. But we can't decide whether to do this or to find a new provider.
Personal pension or stakeholder??????Any thoughts??
Can anyone give me some advice regarding this?
Many Thanks

are you saying she has an occupational scheme as she worked for scottish equitable or she has a group personal pension administered by scottish equitable?

If she continues to pay into it, it will usually often be a new plan with a new reference number and starting at zero again.

As for personal pension or stakeholder, that depends on other factors, such as age, likelihood of transfer again, funds, options and frequency of payments. As well as what her current employer has to offer.

  • Thanks .
My wife is currenly paying a small amount of money(£25-50 /month) into an NHS superannuation scheme. Her Scottish equitable pension was with a previous employer and we feel she is really needing an additional pension as the superann. scheme is not nearly enough. She is currently 33 y/o with our currentl finances she is hoping to pay £100-150/month into a pension. We have been informed by Sottish equitable she can restart her previous company pension.
And we are not quite sure how good an opition this is????

obviously, what you want is advice and you are not going to get that here as we would get on the bad side of the FSA.

However, discussion is good, suggestions on what to investigate is good......

She could look at funding for extra years as the NHS scheme is a very good pension to be in.
