Morning Gers and thank you for starting us off.
It's a bit damp and grey here atm.
Hope everyone has a good day.11 -
Morning all, and thanks for starting us off GersAttempting to go to shopping centre again today for some bits for Christmas. Tried on Monday, sat in traffic jam for 2 hours and then was able to turn off motorway and come home. Problem at Dartford Tunnel and adjoining motorway caused gridlock.Dentist was Ok yesterday. Have to have a tooth taken out that was ground down a few years ago for a denture as it's causing inflamation of the gum. Have to wait for referral to go through and then they'll contact me. Something to look forward to!Just hung some washing out and feels quite calm and warm for the time of year out there yet again.Have a good day all x10

Morning, thanks for starting us Gers.. still dark and dull here.
A quick one from me as OH is helping out a neighbour this morning whilst I am doing a shop for them.
Time to walk big dog and hopefully have time for a cuppa before we start. Love and hugs to all who need them. Take care all x9 -
Morning all. Still dull here. The clocks change this weekend so that won't improve things!
We had a lovely, sunny day day yesterday, visiting a friend in Leicestershire. Today I'm off helping at the Larder and then heading over to look after DGS2. It's parents evening after school so I've made a big chilli for us all to enjoy afterwards plus there should be some leftovers for tomorrow.
Still haven't set up my new laptop but I do have a free day on Friday! We need to go up in the loft and check on the Christmas bits up there before too long.
Mr WL has a hospital procedure tomorrow so we'll have to be up and out early to get him there then I'll get a phone call at goodness knows when to go and collect him. It also means he has to have a very restricted diet today; no fun at all.
On a brighter note DS and his fiance have now sent out their wedding invitations for next year and we've already booked our hotel.
Best wishes to everyone and hope your day goes well.11 -
Morning! So now I hav a stinking cold so I cancelled all appointments [ ok 2 of them] for today and am intending on sitting on the sofa doing as little as possible. We now have light in the extension bit and bathroom, he'll be back again tonight to do the bathroom extractor fan and ceiling in the old kitchen, which reminds me, better cover everything with some dustsheets otherwise we'll be eating mince and gravy and ceiling. That's about all today except good job I bought a packet of hankies yesterday. Cotton hankies are lovely but they get filled quick...tmi?
Izzy, they kept telling me it was big so I paced it at the weekend, old house part, 11 paces, new bit, 9 paces. I'm glad though, plenty of room in the bathroom and a good space for a table and chairs. Flooring came from WallsandFloors.co.uk, really good prices and simple to use with the calculator and stuff. I suppose I could get on with removing the seat pad from the wooden one I got a while ago from the upcycle place, maybe, at some point today.
snoozer, hope it calms down soon for youchris, hope your tooth removal appt comes soon. TA, hope the funeral was OK yesterday. Nanny, do they have a complaints sytem you can use? Having to go through the same thing every month is a bit annoying [ok, a lot a lot annoying] Take care peeps, fingers crossed you all have a good day..

Good morning, thanks Gers.
It's fine here, as was yesterday.
Hope you manage your shopping trip this time Chrisca, sitting in a traffic jam for 2 hours sounds horrendous.
I want to get on with my sewing today, but I have to go out to deliver a birthday card, it won't take long though.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.11 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. A nice start hereabouts and sunny spells forecast for the day ahead.
TAFF the funeral is today. I wish it had been yesterday and then it would be over. So, as it is, I am feeling all strung up about it. And I am still dithering over which coat to wear! It's only 2 weeks since the last funeral so I hope we don't have another one for a while now.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning all, it's a bit damp outside today. Finally sorted Dad's meds yesterday except for his fortified drinks which were delivered but then there weren't as many as ordered and they belonged to someone else ! Pharmacy owned up about the error and will sort it, when is anyone's guess.
DD rang from the car last night on her way home after doing parents evening to say she was sitting in a massive traffic jam as there was an "incident" which had blocked both ways and caused miles of tail backs so goodness knows what time she got home.
I ended the day knocking a cup of coffee over the coffee table and onto the carpet which then had to be cleaned.
Today we are going out to lunch to celebrate our anniversary and I'm looking forward to someone cooking for me for a change.
TA hugs for today, hope it all goes as well as possible.
taff it's the pharmacy that's at fault so we may try the new one in the village next time. Sorry you have a cold, take it easy today ( as if you will 😁)
WL good luck to Mr WL for tomorrow.
Crisca hope the dentist procedure happens quickly and painlessly.
Have a good day everyone, take care and hugs to those in need.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10 -
Morning all
Damp and miserable here and I have also woken full of cold with a raging sore throat so I have cancelled Rob for today and will probably do so tomorrow as well I just hope he doesn’t get this too as I was with him all day yesterday.
I am going to walk the dogs in a while ( they won’t allow me to miss a day) and then have a rest of the sofa for the rest of the day, dinner tonight will be cottage pie so I will prep that this morning too.
TA hope it goes as well as it can today xx
Taff I meant to say the other day I love your extension it’s really lovely and I love the idea of the tile skirting that will save all the painting and touching up xxx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
I came back home yesterday after the theatre, cancelled the hotel room as it was free to do so. I have a physio appointment this morning, which I forgot about, so wanted to be here. It was a bit nutty of me!@Chrisca - that sounds painful, hope you get it sorted pdq. The traffic hold upon Monday was just another added pain.@Remmie - walking dogs always feels lovely, until the rain is hammering down. Hope you managed to stay dry.@WL - fingers crossed for MrWL's procedure tomorrow. I can imagine him wolfing down a tasty chilli afterwards.@TA - a funeral is enough anxiety without all the stress of conforming to an all black request. I'm sure that navy is just as acceptable. I don't have any black clothes apart from trousers.@Taff - sorry about your cold. Fluids and rest are needed in abundance. The photo of your new extension looks lovely, your tradesmen seem to be on the boil .@Scarlet - meant to say 'welcome back' earlier. Now I hope you have a good sewing day.@Nan - happy anniversary, enjoy your celebratory lunch. It's cold and bright here though the white clouds are gathering. I'll be making some more red cabbage later, I ate the last lot so need more for the freezer.9
