Credit File / Security clearance

Options
Can any offer advice/knowledge?
I have defaults that have dropped off my credit score.
I’m in the process of filling out the financial section for security clearance for work. I really don’t know if I should mention these debts (as I’m still paying towards a couple but they no longer show on the credit file) or not.
The whole point is to be truthful and I’m happy to put about my debt etc but if I put it down and they check the file and it’s not there, won’t that look equally odd?
Any advice would be appreciated
