Is a widow entitled to deceased husband’s pension?

While she was a housewife the husband had a successful business and was also an employee for 25-30 years. His NI contributions must have been quite substantial. She receives the basic state pension. He passed away over 10 years ago.

The widow reached SPA pre 6/4/16?
And her late spouse?

Assuming you’re referring to the state pension, then all that is inheritable is any Additional Pension from the earnings related schemes of GrB/SERPS and S2P. If the housewife reached State Pension Age prior to 6th April 2016 and received less than the full Basic State Pension then she could have had an uplift based on her hsuband’s NI Record. However she has that already.0

How much, if snything a widow can get a pension from a deceased husband's State Pension depends very much on the dates and circumstances:
Had he reached State Pension age when he died?
Did she reach SP age before April 2016:?

Seems to be the same question you asked a year ago, with responses which are still valid today: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6470842/is-my-mum-receiving-the-correct-amount-in-pension#latestzedplace said:While she was a housewife the husband had a successful business and was also an employee for 25-30 years. Has your mother checked if her husband had a workplace pension (not clear if he has always had his own business, or been an employee somewhere else?) and whether she is entitled to anything from that?Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0
