Morning all, the wind has died down now, but was very noisy in the night.A fair bit of disruption at Manchester airport with planes struggling to land, but should be ok late tonight hopefully when DS arrives back.We did have roast beef yesterday, nipped and got a joint from Aldi. We were a bit late eating as it went in the sc late. We'll finish off the rest tonight, there are some roasties to heat up too, so that'll be quick when we get back from school pickup. There is a load of stuff in the hall ready to take to the hospice shop in a bit, so better get moving. Have good days all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9

Morning all! Well that was a bit windy yesterday but not too bad. We did get soaked once because obviously the gazebo had to be strapped down again and it chose that moment to hammer it down. Not too bad though, glad everyone is mostly unscathed although not sure about the rest of the country...camelot, no, not finished yet. The electrician is doing the second fix at the moment, he was here yesterday and will be tonight and tomorrow night, so we should hopefully have light and all sorts by Thursday. Then the plumber has to come back to fit the bathroom, there's a wall to finish off with plasterboard and plaster [ just the one to the bathroom becaise all the electric wiring is going through it, and then empty my current kitchen and it's to be tiled the same as the bathroom and bigger kitchen. I don't mind because this way I've been able to keep my kitchen this whole time [ maybe bacon sarnies had something to do with this] and I have yet to pick a kitchen [ there may be enough money for one, there may not be, but either way, I can still move my cooker and have a makeshift worktop while that's being sorted or saved for. We then have a new boiler to go in and OH wants to get the main living rooms and hallway/landing/stairs plastered before Christmas. I am exhausted. I keep getting boils [ on anti's for one that will not go] and now I have a cold so feeling slightly sorry for myself. Not going to stop me going to the allotment and planting my onions and strimming though
D ick and Angel were OK on Saturday night, but personally, I wouldn't go and see them again, and I know people love their kids, but I found them a bit precocious [ what kid isn't at that age though?] I found it a bit fluffy and insubstantial, and I was quite surprised people had been several times to see them. Not a lot of anything new you can't see in the programmes.
camelot, fingers crossed for the knitting! Gers, sounds like a lovely trip avoiding the bad stuff, and that's service for youTA, hope the shopping trip went well yesterday! Allie, hope your brusies are dying down a bit, commiserations, sounds like the kind of thing I'd do...Izzy, R.I.P Jaws, he had a long and eventful life full of fishy snacking
Ruby, that sounds fab, fingers crossed you get to see it today. And yeah, parents [ throw up hands in exasperations] because they always know best...[not] dp1, hope the little ones appointment goes well. snoozer, you can only do what you can do, focus on the big things, they won't notice the tiny things...mehefin, same about airports. OHs stepdad got charged for driving into the congestion zone or whatever it's called at Heathrow and he only went round a roundabout [ with no signs telling you it starts at this roundabout and there's no other way to go apparently] Nanny, can't beat a proper custard slice, I love them...Right I'm going to go before I waffle even more....
There you, current state of extension, the bathroom is behind the wall on the laft. I used the floor tiles as skirting boards because I hate painting and the architrave for the through door is lying flat on the floor waiting to be fixed [ it's stained and waxed on the other side but the cats like scratching wood and if they scratch the good side, I'll kill them.]Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10 -
Morning all, it's calm today but the garden is full of leaves which were coming down in handfuls. I'm glad everyone made it through the storm unscathed. I had a day of sloth yesterday and only got off my backside to cook tea which we enjoyed.
This morning I have a sm delivery coming but there seems to be quite a few MIA's and subs, perhaps it's the Monday morning syndrome as usually it's all there. I'll take my time putting the dry goods away then I have my meds to go in my dosette box and the bins to put out. Exciting day ahead eh ?
We'll have a chicken curry and rice for tea as I'll use up the lo chicken from yesterday.
Have a good day whatever you are doing.
Take care, hugs to all in need.

Morning all. Dull but dry here today.
A slow start to the day for me. I felt very tired last night and slept in a bit this morning. I need to take a baking tin back to JL today as it seems to be a duplicate of one I've already got! I wanted a 12 hole tin for fairy cakes but all the ones nowadays are muffin sized tins and I've already got one of those. I guess it's a sign of the times, in that every food item is bigger
My new passport arrived on Saturday and it's dated until 2034. Crumbs - I'll be 80 by then and quite likely not to need a passport, except for id purposes!
Off to start my day. Hope everyone's goes well.9 -
Morning, dull and dry here also. I'm glad everyone is safe after yesterday.
It's one of those days today. Big dog woke us up at 5am needing to go out. That's unusual for him as he loves his sleep, but better than doing it indoors. He came back in and instantly went back to sleep. Wish I did!
Then OH used the basin in the bathroom and informed me its blocked, so is now attending to it. He won't give up until he sorts it out.
Oh well, makes for a different start to the day. After that excitement I've no idea what the rest of the day holds. Pork chops for dinner but don't know what to have with them.
RIP Jaws, he sounds like he had a good life.
Ruby, hope Rob joins you today, have a good time, sounds interesting.
Take care all x7
