Morning folks. There's a beautiful moon and the stars are still out. I need to stop looking at them and shift myself. My car is ready 😀 so I'm heading down for it. I'll leave the hire car at the body shop for the company to collect. The main road at the Rest is closed so it's the  diversion down Glen Croe that's open under convoy. It'll make for a short delay. We have a yellow weather warning in place for the weekend. 

I hope that everyone has a good Saturday.

Morning folks and thanks GERS for starting off. Safe journey to collect your car. 

Not a bad day is forecast - sunny spells and gentle breeze, but the temperature is dropping slightly after the mild spell we have been having. I had plans of tripping off to Harrogate on the 3 bus journey to make a start on shopping for stocking fillers but now, in the cold light of day, I am wondering if I cba! So watch this space on that. 

It's middle DGD's 16th birthday today. It's frightening how quickly time flies. I gave her present (money and a small stock of make up) to DD yesterday to give her this morning.

Morning all

It's going to be a wet one today.  I wanted to clear some pots and put a hydrangea that is in one of them into the garden with DH's help but that's not going to happen now.  I also had lots of spring bulbs to plant too as I'd bought some netting to stop the squirrels digging them up for their tea but that's not going to happen either now. 

Oh well baking it is then, Twinks hobnobs are on the menu I think.

Hope your trip for your car goes smoothly Gers.

I can't blame you TA for pondering your trip, 3 bus changes makes a long day!

Morning, safe journey Gers  enjoy getting your car back.

Still dark here and has been raining all night, but the forecast is for sunshine later. We shall see.

Nothing planned for today, shall see how the weather goes. Dinner tonight for OH is probably his favourite, steak and ale pie, chips and peas. I will have spag bol. Sauce in freezer so just the spaghetti to do. Will eat while watching Strictly.

Izzy, we also brush big dog while out in the field and leave the fur for the birds, but as soon as we get in he has a shake and its amazing how much still comes out. He won't be out for long this morning though as its raining.
Ruby, glad Rob enjoyed his fishing. Happy shopping. I haven't started yet, must get going.

thanks for all that have posted so far - safe journey Gers, you’ll be pleased to get your own car back. 

The weather has been very changeable, lots of sun plus torrential downpours.  Hoping to get a few garden jobs done but they're in a sloping area that will be muddy and slippery so maybe not…..
The river in the village was very high yesterday and I think there was talk of putting up the flood barriers in the nearby town.

Morning all, it's soggy outside but the rain has stopped for now. I'm up early as I am taking Dad to get his Covid jab and as mine is booked for 2hrs later I'm going to ask if I can have it while I'm there instead of going back.   
Yesterday I went through a drawer which contains manuals/instruction books and threw out lots of them because we no longer have the item as they have been replaced. I had 3 manuals for old kettles ! 
I haven't thought about xmas yet but I have bought advent calendars for the DGC. I've no idea what to get for anyone this year.
Gers safe journey and I hope your car looks lovely.

Morning All

Dry and bright after a very wet night, I have washing just finishing and will put it out in a minute.

Had a lovely trip to Hexham, the hotel was good and the weather glorious until the latter part of the drive home. We stopped at Kelso on the way back for an afternoon tea, wasn't worth the money but we ate most of it anyway! Got stuck in traffic around Edinburgh so it seemed to take an age to get home.

Glad you're getting your car back Gers, safe journey.
Well done on the fishing Ruby, sounds like a great day.
Happy Birthday to middle DGD TA.

Allotment this morning and may do some food shopping but I have enough in if I don't go.

Morning everyone dull and damp here we have a weather warning for later as well Gers safe journey to pick up your car . Remmie we have a little terrier now she doesn’t cast I miss the dogs but not the hairs . TA I give all my grandchildren money now I don’t like to but it’s to difficult to think of gifts they want . I don’t know what today will bring but I must get off my backside and do something. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that Need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning all. Dull and damp again here.

I had my Covid jab yesterday with no ill effects and must get round to booking my shingles one. I think that's done at the GP surgery.

I also managed to get my boots heeled yesterday and bumped into an old work colleague whilst collecting them so it was good to catch up. Sorted out a new laptop in JL but will go and chat with them again tomorrow just to make sure it's the right one for me. There's a double points promotion on their credit card this weekend so hope to buy it tomorrow.

Today we are going pumpkin picking with the GCs. We always go to the same family farm as it's not huge and commercial. There will be hot chocolate, tractor rides and pony rides so it will be an enjoyable morning. After that we'll go back to DD's as we need to discuss hotels for DS's wedding next year. 

Hope everyone has a good weekend and stays clear of the approaching storm.

Morning All
Weather wet and a bit yucky after 2 lovely days.
DH has his "Octoberfest " today. Have bought the food and drink. Need to mop kitchen and bathroom and hoover lounge.
As some of our friends don't like smoked meats/ cheese / schitzel etc I have also bought snacks like sausage rolls, chicken strips etc. 

Gers hope the journey to pick up car is smooth

Morning all

its been raining most of the night but sunny for now and I think we are also due the big storm tomorrow so a day indoors will be had.

I got quite a bit of Christmas shopping done yesterday but still have a bit to get dd and I are hoping to have a day in Brighton we will get the train and have a boozy lunch which always makes shopping more pleasant 😃

I got the trout out of the freezer this morning so OH and I will have that for dinner tonight, OH will have to gut it first as I hate doing that we have some broccoli to go with it, it’s a 3 lb fish so should feed us well.

Housework to do this morning and then OH will go and take his dad to see his mum and I will take the dogs out for a walk, this afternoon will be a nice hot bath and a film in front of the fire.
