Dawn is breaking, not much glory yet though I live in hope. It has streaks of pink and grey.Yesterday was very slobby, apart from emptying a drawer full of unwanted T-shirts / tops most of which are now in a bag at the door. When I worked full time I wore lots of them, nowadays I have no need for them, especially as we hardly ever have the weather for them. I had a long chat with a lovely GP, decided on a course of action and then got cold feet about it.
Then I set about closing a number of little saving accounts which had tiny amounts of money in, too many lingering around for no good reason.
This morning I'm heading north to take my friend shopping. Her husband still has a leg encased in a splint and bandages. I don't need much so will potter around.I hope that all the building work, electrical work, sicknesses and general upsets are all sorted out.12 -
Morning all, thanks Gers, so nice of you to take your friend to do her shop.Haven't read back yet. Had a busy day painting the kitchen and emptying cupboards- decided we have far too many glasses, utensils, baking tins etc. , so there are 2 big bags ready for the hospice shop. Some crockery from the loft too!Today I need to return my library books to avoid a fine so need a quick trip to town.Yesterday a water main burst on the route we take to pick up DGS, so traffic was stationary with temp traffic lights. The infant site of the school didnt have any water & was closed all day, which he thought was very unfair as his little sis had the day off! The flooded path from the previous day had cleared. Glad about that as I had to give him a piggy back & he's not getting any lighter! DH was quite impressed when we told him.Had some pork medallions for tea with a mustard and honey sauce, tasty if I do say so myself.Hope you all have a good day, better go & fish my library books out!:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Good morning Gers, thanks for starting us.
Foggy outside but forecast to be dry today. I got my chores completed yesterday, the floors looked lovely for a while. Big dog is a short haired Belgian shepherd but my goodness does he moult. You've heard the saying "he only sheds twice a year - for 6 months at a time", well that's him.
Usual chores today, wash load to do. Dinner last night was chicken kievs, jacket potatoes and salad. Tonight will be salmon, new potatoes and veg.
Ruby, I hope Rob enjoyed his fishing and you got some fresh trout.
Take care all x10 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Quite a nice start here, no fog and the sun is doing its best to shine. Still feeling mild for October but how long for!
Not very good news at the dentist yesterday and painful work is ahead. They have made me 3 appointments for Nov/Dec, each for one hour and ten minutes, and she told me I will be very, very sore afterwards. I'm not worrying about it until it happens! Meanwhile I had better get the freezer stocked with soup and soft food in readiness for difficulty eating!
I've got a few niggly jobs out of the way already and now I am having another coffee before the Friday Tidy calls. Do we get 3 Fridays in a week, it sometimes feels like it!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. SNOOZER I hope the littlies keep their bugs to themselves and don't give them to you. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning everyone
Yesterday we had a lovely sunny warm day and it looks like it will be the same today. The children at nursery arrive in their winter coats and go home in their t shirts!
I got my shopping done before work yesterday and when I came home sat out in the sunshine for a while, which was lovely.
Little one rang me before school to talk about her birthday...in January!
I'll go down to mam and dads this morning to do his banking and then get the bus down to work.
TA - ouch! Try not to think about it
Snoozer - hope your little ones are better soon.
Hope everyone has a good day today x

Morning all from a (currently) sunny Mehefinland
Gosh that moon was bright again this morning - lovely to see instead of the cloud and rain forecast for later today.
Electrics fixedFelt a bit of a fool as the electrician came and just moved the circuit breaker back in and hey presto everything worked. Apparently with the sort I have you have to push it over slowly but firmly. I had been whizzing it over and it didn't connect, and popped straight back out again. I will know for next time. He wouldn't take any payment so I gave him a big bunch of leeks which I had just brought down from the field and started trimming up. (Showman has been pulling them out of the big growing bag I had them in , and taking a little nibble of the green part.GRRR.)
Sorted a few things out in one of the wardrobes - stuff only fit for ragging, so that will go later today. Washed a load of stuff which had a slight touch of mould/damp and that's out now having a blow. Find I am doing bits and pieces as things catch my eye. Still haven't found the bag of jewelry which I know she has put somewhere safe - there is a Quenn Victoria half sovereign in there ( one of the early ones with her as a young woman on the obverse) which I would quite like to find. I'm sure it will turn up when I least expect it.
Had a chuckle at the moulting period for the dogs- My lovely Sally has been gone 2 years and the vacuum still finds her hair - and I do clean regularly - itjust sorts of clings - must have teeth on the strands to grab any fabric - well that's my excuse lol
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning all
Very foggy here but the sun is trying to break through and then it’s meant to be a lovely day, dd and I are off shopping today to start on some Christmas bits I have a few already and want to get a good few more today I am also going to get Rob a couple of T-shirts to keep here.
The fishing was brilliant yesterday Rob caught a 3lb rainbow trout with some help which is now in my freezer as his mum did not want it 😃 I had a go at casting the fly fishing rod which is not very easy they put on a great bbq lunch and they all got a certificate and a goodie bag at the end, Rob went home very full and happy.
Dinner tonight will be breaded chicken and chips with some coleslaw a nice quick shove in the oven dinner. Dogs will be walked before we go and I need to have a hoover round.
TA oh poor you hopefully it won’t be too bad xxx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Morning all. Dull, grey and a bit misty here this morning.
I'm still here @nannywindow but my elderly laptop makes me log in every single time so I get fed up and just read through the posts then move on.
Today I have one load of washing in plus a previous days waiting to be ironed. I'm off to get my (newly rediscovered) black leather, knee length boots heeled today. They were expensive but have sat in a big box under the spare bed for years and need to be worn more often. I've recently bought a couple of dresses from Seasalt and wore the boots with one at the weekend. I'm usually far more of a trousers and top person but maybe I need to up my game a bit?!
I've also had Covid, for the third time, but have been clear since Sunday. Pretty sure it came from being on a double decker bus tour with one of my Morris sides the previous Saturday. When my medical son commented on it I told him to be glad he had parents with such an active social life! And then I asked if he could put me up for the night in a couple of weeks as I'm at a Morris event at Limehouse Town Hall that doesn't end until midnight
Anyway, I've rebooked my Covid jab for this afternoon so had better get going for the day.
Happy days everyone.10 -
Morning! Sorry I'm a bit patchy posting, things just seem to take over. The tiler made an impromtu stop yesterday, he was here till gone six, got in troube with his sister because he forgot he was supposed to be meeting her. He's an excellent tiler but by god he's a messy pup. I made him a quick sauce that I was making when he came before, so he went home with a jar of that and some bread and butter pickles. I can foist food on anyone, it's a superpower! No one is coming today as far as I know whch is good because I have builders in the house fatigue, I'm letting so many other things slide. I have to fetch something from argos today and then I may visit the allotment before OH goes to work and the tiler comes back for some touch ups. Out tonight with the friend back from Canada, jabs tomorrow and !!!!!! and Angel tomorrow night in Bath. I'll drive there and back, it's easier.Ruby, hope Rob enjoyed his fishing, sounds lovely
Rosy, that's very energetic of you! the pork medallions sound lovely! mehefin, glad that's fixed for you, don't worry, I've done similar and paid for the privilege
My mother used to keep hers under an ottoman which was handy [ not] even less so when the weight of the blankets in it pushed the bottom out and squashed it all into the floor...dp1, glad she's back to normal, how's your dad doing? TA, commiserations, does not sound nice at all...remmie, you reminded me of my dog, I would hoover the carpets and see what colour they were originally under the fur, she was a GSD. Gers, seize the day, or the treatment rather! snoozer, hope the heat pump is finished and toddlers are better. camelot, hope you had a nice stay. bella, well done for wearing him out [and yourself?
] nanny, thats my cue to say is the squirrel alright now?
Right, I'm off for breakfast, starving this morning...take care all, fingers crossed for mood lightening days and yes, wasn't that moon fantastci last night!

Morning all it's a bit damp out this morning after overnight rain. Hopefully it will be dry for the most of the day but I won't hold my breath.
I managed to get out into the garden yesterday and cut the hydrangea back as it was fouling the side gate because after it rains you get wet legs getting past, plus it was huge again. Yesterday all the washing dried so it's ready to put away today then I shall be cleaning the upstairs, starting with the bathroom.
WL I'm glad to see you're still with us. I am sorry that you've had Covid again though.
TA ouch ! Hope it goes smoothly and pain free.
Redruby I'm glad Rob had a good day and he caught a trout for your teas.nan xx
Mehefin glad the electrics are fixed.
Right another coffee then I will make a start, promise !
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.
nan xx
