Bicycle tyre outer tube

Hello. I want to know how to go about replacing it since all the grips are worn out. Shall I get someone to fix it or try to do it myself? I'm not that bike savvy but I can change my inner tubing.
Thanks.

I assume you're talking about the tyre itself (the bit of rubber touching the ground!), and grips = tread.

Are you looking for a place to buy a tyre or how to do it?

    How to buy?:-
Bargain bin at your local bike shop?

    Halfords sale?

Your local bike shop may be best as they can advise on the correct size....

    How to do it:-

If you can replace your inner tube then you're halfway there to changing the tyre and it uses exactly the same techniques...

You take off one side of the tyre in the normal way, then pop the other tyre side off in the same way. The wheel can then be pulled free leaving. Reverse this to get the new tyre on.

How to Replace a Bike Tire

Wilkinson have cheap, but decent tires. However, assortment of sizes is not very good.

Depending on your bike usage it could be well worth switching to a different style - e.g My mountain bike has been switched to a set of "city Jet" MTB road slicks as I commute via bike - and these improve my road speed/ease of cycling.

I picked up a pair from ebay for about £15 in p&p
