Separation - estate agents / landlords refusing me as a rental tenant due to being named on mortgage

Currently going through a separation and want to move out and rent.  Hitting issues with estate agents / landlords refusing me as a tenant due to being named on mortgage. 

Some saying I need to be either removed off the mortgage or house sale needs to be proved?

Anyone any experience of this and have advice of how to workaround?

Easiest work around is to not give the estate agents or landlords too much information.

Try 6/12 months up front

They're just questioning the affordability of you having to pay the mortgage and the rent at the same time. The solution is typically to pre-pay X months so they get comfortable  or have a guarantor. Alternatively try to show how you can afford to pay both... arguing your ex is paying the mortgage in full won't be sufficient

I had to get my solicitor to confirm I had the proceeds from a house sale as I failed affordability otherwise.

Although I can afford it and have done for 12 months 😂

 Don't tell them you are named on a mortgage. Its not any of their business anyway.
