Back. It's still dark outside and the wind is howling. I think it'll be a wet day. This morning the cleaner is coming so I'll absent myself whilst he's here. In the afternoon I'm meeting with a friend for a coffee and chat. I'm sorry there's so much sickness around just now, I hope that everyone recovers soon.13

Morning folks and thanks GERS. No wind howling here but it looks foggy and miserable out there. But the bonus is a mini Autumn heatwave! We are forecast 17 deg, Strange weather.
Against the odds my DF made it for lunch yesterday and we enjoyed a nice meal, a glass or two of wine and much catching up of news. A very pleasant afternoon. Today is bus ride day so a stroll round the market and cs of Skipton, before lunch (again!), is on the agenda. And more sharing of news with my bus buddy. Her DH is in the early stages of dementia but safe to leave, for now at least.
It seems it's poorly season again on here with d & v, Covid, coughs and colds doing the rounds. I hope the affected soon feel better. ((HUGS)) for all. Take care one and all and stay safe xx

Morning all
i think I missed yesterday - I had my jabs early doors and never got back to post. Thankful that we have very helpful Drs - they tagged my record as a carer so that I was eligible. Had an hour of feeling super-hot and my teeth chattering at the same time but other than a sore arm that’s it for side effects. The weather is forecast to be awful with a yellow rain warning so hibernating with some craft stuff. I didn’t do much yesterday but managed a deep clean of a few rooms including my craft room which was a dusty/painty/gluey mess. All clean and tidy ready to start again now.Best wishes to all the poorlies - do take care

Good morning, it seems ok outside, I saw the forecast as well TA, 18° in the middle of October.
We are busy catching up with relatives here, going visiting again today. Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, take care folks.

Good morning all
Thank you for the start Gers
Look damp outside at the moment but a dry day is forecast.
Nothing planned for today. Need some waterproof shoes or boots so will have a look. Seems the walk and talk group meet no matter what the weather.
With all the rain we've been having the lawn is growing so might get the mower out. It makes the garden look so much tidier.
Take care
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.12 -
Morning All
Wet and miserable this morning, still dark too although quite mild. I don't think we will have the dizzy heights of 20 degrees but it's enough to keep the heating off.
Yesterday was overcast but dry, spent a few hours at the allotment - cleared my beds and helped to weed some others in the community garden there, will hopefully get more done on Saturday. Once home I tidied the garden and gave the grass its last cut of the year (I hope) and gave the mower a good clean. Our council are charging for the brown bins now so I'm trying to put garden waste in the ordinary bin but it gets too heavy very quickly so it'll be a long job clearing the greenhouse of all the tomato plants.
I have the little one today, we'll play this morning and go to a craft session at the library this afternoon. Her Mummy will collect her in time for her gymnastics class.
Hope the poorlies are feeling better this morning, take care. XX11 -
Morning all
We have a mixed bag of weather today raining atm then sunny later and then thunder and lightning tonight all with about 19 deg very odd.
Off to collect Rob today and take him to work we will probably do some baking he loves being in the kitchen and being busy bless him, tomorrow we are off to a fishing event which is put on by the local masons group where they help people with disabilities to fish last time I came home with two fresh trout as his mum did not want them, they also put on a bbq for lunch it is normally a good day.
Dinner tonight will be the beef casserole which I made yesterday I will put it in the sc before I go to work there is some nice crusty bread to have with it.
I need to do some shopping on the way home, I don’t mind the shopping I wizz around like TA says in a supermarket sweep fashion but I hate putting it all away once home.
I hope the poorly ones feel better soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all...its not raining, woopee, but it is overcast and damp. Feeling human so far so plans are to sand wax and polish some archtrave that's to go up before Friday and sand down a door frame where the little cat has decided it's a scratching post. There are a few loads of washing to do again [ it never stops does it?] so the tumble will have to raise it's head today. I don't know how people used to cope even sixty years ago with washing things in the winter or even just drying them after rain, especially those big heavy coats, they'd be damp for months..makes me appreciate the tumble drier and being dry quite a lot.Hugs to the poorlies, stay warm dry if possible!

Morning, a dark and wet start here. I was up at 3.30am (member of the wide awake club) and it was raining heavy then.
Yesterday OH replaced the lights in the kitchen. Some weren't working and others worked when they felt like it. They were donkeys years old so needed it. It was one of the jobs for the summer but its done now. It meant I didn't go out as I was the go-fer and "the hold this a minute" person. At least I can see in there now, don't know if that'll improve my cooking though.
So today is shopping. I would leave it but the offers in Lids finish today.
Love and hugs to all who need them, have a good day x11 -
Morning all from a dull, wet but surprising mild Mehefinland.
Not sure what's on the cards today. Emptied the bottom of one of the wardrobes yesterday of 22! pairs of shoes, some which have never been worn. Not sure if CS will take them so may try FB marketplace, or Vinted. Any opinions re the latter please?
Scooby is getting furry!! Winter coat is growing at a rapid pace. I will have to think about when I need to rug her up ( she is an old lady and appreciated her comfort, although she completely wrecked her rug in the Spring as she had an itch which she had to kick at. Caught her leg in the straps and the whole thing disintegrated - it was quite an old rug to be fair. Have to check if I have one in her size.
There is something making a noise 'upstairs'. One of the disadvantages of a bungalow is that its not always apparent if we have 'visitors' in the attic, or stomping about on the roof. Had a crow down the woodburner stack in the summer, how it fell down the hole is beyond me as they are big birds. Lets just say it was 'fun' getting the blooming thing out again. Fortunately no damage to bird or house.
Might follow upon GERS suggestion for the clothing. The local comp is doing Oliver for its next production, but I don't think what I have would be suitable. Will continue digging.
Hugs and spoons as always
Mehefin
