Remember that booking early guarantees your delivery slot. It does NOT reserve or hold the items.
All your shopping is picked the day of delivery. If you book a delivery for a day or two before Christmas and order a turkey there is a solid chance there will be no turkeys left on the shelf and you will not get one. Ditto your pigs in blankets, yorkshire puddings etc etc.
If you order anything important then get it delivered at least a few days before Christmas, so if things are unavailable you will have time to go to the shop and find them. Deliveries with substitutes and unavailables of well over a dozen are very common in the last few days before Christmas.2 -

Deliveries with substitutes and unavailables of well over a dozen are very common in the last few days before Christmas.Pretty crazy the supermarkets still have no concept of pre orders and stock management.Morrisons seems a bit more organised (at least if you in a warehouse area), they will eventually show xmas items as out of stock cant order when they ordered too many times, and they have never not delivered christmas items to me.0
