HMRC bankruptcy hearing

I'm being declared bankrupt by HMRC for unpaid income tax.

My hearing at the High Court in London is in a couple of weeks but it clashes with a longstanding hospital appointment.

I've been expecting bankruptcy for quite a while and I'm not opposing it.  Do I need to attend the hearing?

It's always best to attend the hearing.

My local court used to have a rule of thumb that they would allow the defendant to postpone the hearing -once.

I don't know that you'd be successful but try contacting the court and explaining the clash of dates
