Capquest CCA Request

Hi All,
So I sent a CCA request to Capquest back in July this year. The only response I got was an undated/unaddressed letter about a week later returning my fee and saying they will issue a response as soon as possible. Ive had no further response to my request since.
However, last month I got a letter from Capquest notifying me that they are 'now managing my account' for the exact same debt but with a completely different reference number.
Ive not paid them anything for the past 2 months and they have not chased payment at all. However, Im confused as to why they have now writtent to me as a new customer with a completely new reference number for the same debt. It was originally with virgin money and I only ever had one account with them.
Does anyone have any ideas why this would be the case, and/or if this is some kind of DCA shenanigans to get out of issuing the CCA? Should I be chasing up for them to confirm the debt is unenforceable?
Thanks in advance.
J

It sounds like they are messing around and know it's unenforceable.
Ignore everything up to a preaction letter should one ever arrive0 -
I had something similar where I kept getting bounced around between Intrum, Capquest and Resolvecall with each of them saying I would need to contact one of others about the CCA (a deliberate attempt to frustrate the process of getting it I'm sure). I eventually got an acknowledgement from Capquest and I'm now waiting but will ignore everything up to a preaction letter as Fatbelly advises.1
