Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It's a dry start here, hope it stays that way.
We are going away tomorrow down to the south west, to visit DH's brother, so today will be continuing our preparations for the trip.
We won't need much, we're only going to be there for 3 full days, coming home on Friday.
Yesterday was an ok day, we were just busy round the house.
Hope everyone is ok, haven't read back yet.
Take care folks.9 -
Another early start for me, I'm off down the road to have lunch with my late DM's crossword friend who is celebrating his birthday today. Spookily, he shares his birthday with my late DDad and my eldest nephew, very confusing at one point. I'm looking forward to lunch, a glass of wine (I'm staying over) and some good chat.I hope that all are well, grandchildren delightful, building and decorating progressing and the quiet life relaxing.9

morning everyone
lovely to see the sun for a change though it’s chillier.Yesterday was non stop sorting and craft work - I’m tired and achey though. Struggling with sleep at the moment, I think my head is too busy with ideas and things to do. Might try and start sorting out the log store today - there are some huge logs that need splitting.Happy Sunday

Morning, dry here and the sun coming through.
I didn't get on here yesterday, the day seemed to whizz by and before I knew it was time for Strictly. DH did a couple of small diy jobs which of course took twice as long as he thought they would, but their done now.
I'm cooking the gammon for dinner, going to make a cauliflower cheese with it (yum) and some roasties. Other than that no plans for today.
Nanny, such good news about your Dh.
Love and hugs to all who need them, have a good day x

Morning everyone I’m another who didn’t manage to get on here yesterday we had to go to a shopping centre the roads were extremely busy but we were there early and got parked in fact we were half an hour early so went for a coffee unheard of when I’m with hubby but I kept it plain and simple we had Greg’s and he had a bacon sandwich that kept the peace for the day I just had the coffee I must admit I feel a world of difference since I stopped the bread and I’m not missing it . I got a voucher for Iceland so I’ve got a delivery coming today I was surprised at how easy it was to do and I’m hopeless I got a new little freezer to put in the garage and I need something to fill it with before Xmas and I have been good at using up in my main freezer . Beef is going in the oven soon we will have that later I’ve got a bit of washing to do but nothing urgent I don’t know if it will dry it’s very cold . Scarlet enjoy your few days away Gers enjoy lunch . Nanny good news about your DH . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing7

Morning everyone.Enjoy your trip Scarlet, and you Gers. I didn't post either yesterday, we are out early these days on a Saturday as DGS 'home ' football pitch has changed cos they now need a bigger size, and it's further away. The plus side is it's next to the retail park and we can get any bits we need. After getting a new lappie and TD on Thursday, the 3rd thing broke- DHs phone! A new one being delivered today. It looks to me like he's sat on it, all the glass is scratchedNan, very glad to hear Mr.Fixit's tests came back ok.Derek, hope your Chinese evening went well, we had one last night too.TA great to hear about your girls supporting the hospice.Sorry I haven't mentioned everyone, once I've got past a few posts, memory goes ,especially when I read the previous days tooWe may call at DS2's later. Apart from that a lazy day. Take care all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)7

Morning everyone
I didn't get on yesterday either as I had little one from Friday afternoon - she'd requested homemade pizzas for tea and arrived with a packet of pepperoni because I'd said I didn't have any. We had a lovely day at home yesterday - we painted a small china tea set, made wooden animals, read lots of books and then DD picked us up for a Chinese takeaway at their house. She's been decorating their living room and has it looking lovely with new furniture and sofas. Little one told me that when she went back to school on Monday everyone clapped when she went into the classroom - 'Granny they were so happy to see me and I was so happy too'
Also told me that now she's in year one 'you have to do a lot of work you know'
This morning I'll go down to mam and dads for a cuppa and to reply to his email from eldest DD - she texted to say it might be a bit late as she was out last night and has a bit of a hangover.
It's sunny here so I have the rest of yesterday's washing to hang outside, I did get one load dry before the rain started and I might strip my bed so I can get that out when I come home.
Gers enjoy your lunch - it's lovely that you keep in touch with your mums friend
Camelot have a lovely time with your little one
TA enjoy your time with your DD and girls
Remmie you've made me fancy cauliflower cheese, I have frozen cauliflower so I could make one to go with my tea
Izzybee you've got me wanting a beef roast dinner, haven't had one for ages
Scarlet ribbons enjoy your trip away
Always Allie when we had a coal fire I used to enjoy chopping sticks and splitting logs - pleased I don't have to attempt it now though
Right best go, hope everyone has a good day9 -
Morning all
Not raining atm and none due till this evening it feels quite chilly though. WM is on and doing its thing I’m not sure it’s worth hanging the washing out though as it feels damp.
DD came home about 11 last night quite merry 😬 but they had a lovely time which is the main thing.
Dinner today will be roast pork, roasties, parsnips, leeks in a cheese sauce, sprouts and carrots, I didn’t get round to making the crumble yesterday so dd said she will do it today apple and blackberry with custard, I did make the roasted tomato soup though which was delicious it’s in the fridge ready for Monday. DD’s young man is coming for dinner later.
Dogs to be walked and a bit of housework to do which won’t take long with the three of us.
I have been looking into doing a POA for OH and myself the solicitors are charging a fortune to do it and I have found a government website which charge £82 per person per form and we both need two one financial one health, I think I remember Gers doing a free one a while ago but that may have been just for Scotland, does anyone have any ideas for a free or cheaper one ?
Nan such good news re Mr Fix it xxx
TA enjoy your breakfast and good memories xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Hello all, many thanks for your support, crossing your fingers obviously helped a lot. Shame we may have to go through it again in 3 months time, it's such a mental roller coaster and the brain gets frazzled.
I didn't quite finish my book so that's my must do for today. I didn't get out into the garden either as we had showers on and off all day. We did have several deliveries arrive for DD so our doorbell was red hot 😂
We'll have some thick slices of beef from the meat van for dinner so that'll go in the slow cooker in gravy, I daren't try to cook it in the oven as it'll probably be as tough as old boots. I'll do roasties and veg with it later.
TA hope everyone gets on really well today and a lot of money is raised x
Scarlet and Gers enjoy you trips away.
Hope everyone has a good day whatever you are doing.
Take care all
nan xx
