Small/compact armchair wanted - where to look?

Thanks again for the replies.
All of the manufacturers disregard teenagers and only make for today's bloated adults, unfortunately, resulting in bloated measurements. Nothing truly compact seems to be available. None of the smaller, 'vanity'-type things have arms. So, I'm caught between the two.
As some have suggested, I'll keep looking in charity shops and Gumtree etc. in the hope that something from a previous, less bloated era might turn up!0 -
Would a carver chair meet your needs? Or a captain's chair but they tend to be pricier.

Thanks but I don't want anything too stick-y. A compact version of this kind of thing is what I'm after:

Another one suggesting looking at 2nd hand options as there are some nice and very practical pieces of older furniture about - often available for not alot. 1 option option might be something like a vintage parker knoll with wooden arms, or a small tub chair. Currently sat here in a parker knoll 713 - from about 1940. The one in this picture is in rather better condition than mine - mine badly needs recovering as a minimum. However although the seat is comfortably wide 54cm they are fairly narrow 63cm wide due to the narrow arms and about 70cm depth. Variations on the basic wooden armed chairs were made for years so it's possible to find something that would suit. With 60s style furniture coming back in you could probably find something similar to an equivalent from that era new. Ikea have the EKENÄSET which is 64cm wide and 78 cm deep.I've also got a couple of compact edwardian tub chairs - similar style to this about 58cm wide and about 50cm deep - again plenty of bottom room on those. Can't find a photo of ones quite like mine but this is one that someone is selling locally near me for £20 (mine is all wood rather than the upholstered panel in the back). They are more comfortable than they look.An advantage is only having an upholstered seat is they are easy and cheap to get reupholstered or the fabric changed if needed. An newer alternative to this would be something like a rattan Agen chair from ikea - but for a similar sized chair the seat widths tend to be narrower - so would probably want to check if it would be wide enough.Another option would be a carver chair or a cocktail chair - but cocktail chairs can be low so I'd check the height if you think that might be important.

I've been looking for much the same for my glass porch/mini conservatoryHaving sat in a lot of chairs in show rooms that look gorgeous frankly they aren't very comfortable. The best I've found so far have been the Lloyd Loom type.I even have one without arms that has secret storage in the seat. There's all sorts of shapes and sizes that you can colour and cover - cheap in charity shops. The prices on ebay had me laughing
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

OP - take a look here. If its not urgent, keep looking and something will turn up within your travel radius. The big advantage is that when you spot something that suits you can ask the vendor to get the measuring tape out before you make that journey (also crucial to make sure it will fit in your vehicle). I fear my Gumtree days are over now I no longer drive an estate vehicle.
@JackieO - I thought of you the other day when I heard that several Dobbies branches will be closing. Have you moved now?No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Have you thought about garden furniture? I found a couple of Bramblecrest rattan chairs in perfect condition on Ebay and they're really comfortable just as they are, but even more so if you add a cushion or two.1
