Hi,
My fix term is due to end, I have had my mortgage 12+ years and usually choose a new fix term with the same lender online. I have tried to do this and they are now saying that I made 2x larger over payments during my last fix I now need to do speak with a mortgage advisor and do checks for a new mortgage fix!?! Had anyone come across this recently?? Thanks

I had the same this week, expected just a renewal offer as always but had to apply for a new product, so spent an hour on the phone going over everything and affordability checks.
They did not give any reasons why this was needed but like you I had made over payments, so could be the reason.
Probably did in the end suit me as they did not credit checks as existing mortgage and I was able to talk a few options through but I was surprised I needed to make an application.Challenges
