The New Year's Eve DFW Stay-At-Home Party!

I guess a few of us will be stopping in tomorrow night. It's the sociable times of the year I find slightly tricky, as I do feel a bit of a billy no mates when I force myself to stop in! I've been invited to two house parties (which are at least cheaper than going out!) but one's in London, one in the East Midlands. So it's at least £40 for the train tickets and travelling on what it seems will be one of the worst days of the year on the rail network, which made it kind of easier to say no!
Even so, a friend has just text me asking if I'll change my mind, and I was tempted enough to go back and check out the travel options. Seeing as I usually never go out at all, partly due to debt, partly due to being a curmudgeonly old bird (ha can you tell I watch too much House? curmudgeonly is my word of the year!) I do think sometimes, why not! But I'm so sad now, I get much more pleasure from paying a bit more off the cards! I just hope my friends will have enough patience with me putting them off all the time to wait for me to emerge, debt free in the summer, ready to par-tay!
So what do you say DFWs? Stay at home and all have a glass of the vino simultaneously tomorrow night? Whaddya say!?

Well we are staying in, as we did last year and the year before. We are having our own house party so the kids can stay up late and they think it is great! I cant be bothered with going out on New Years Eve anymore, too busy!Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

Personally I cannot think of anything worse than being stood at a crowded bar, waiting hours to be served, no seats to sit and relax on and having to pay over the odds for a late taxi home.
I shall be spending the evening with my O/H and my three poochies...and I may well pop in here to share a glass of cheer.
Roll on 2008 - our best year yet! X x0 -
I'm staying in due to my unbelivebly slow fitting of a bathroom suite since Christmas ..I somehow convinced myself t would fly in in 3 days....
So Tilling and grouting till 7.00 ish ....Then New years starts with a vengence ....If I have the energy..:)0 -
Definitely staynig in tomorrow night. May or may not see the new year in - it depends how knackered I feel by about 10 or 10.30.
Off on New Year's Day and the day after, then back into work on Thursday. No more holidays then until April

im going out sorry. its my first new year with my husband since we got married and thats been 3 and a half years so im going out with him and little boy. we havenet spent to much though we are going to the pub on camp so it cost us £10 for the ticket wich will include as much food as we can eat all night. just have to buy drinks but its cheap as its a RAF pub so we get it subsidised so about £1.20 a pint for husband. £20 should last all night and husband will be sloshed so we are having a treat. cant wait to see it in with him. trying to be moneysaving as its cheaper than anywhere else we found only other places we found were £25 each without drinks. so would have spent over £100 on 3 of us.back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0

I am choosing to stay in and go to bed. Not overly into new year overpriced drinks and kissing strangers, I must be getting old.Barclaycard 3800
