Good morning, it's damp here, not really cold though.
I didn't get back yesterday, forgot about it till last night, so thought it was too late.
Nothing of note happened yesterday, went to the Book Club at the library. Today it's the Residents' Association meeting so I'll go to that, it's usually only an hour.
TA, sorry to read you're having such a sad time, thinking of you.
Dp1 hope dg d will be all right at school.
Thoughts to our poorly or sad people, take care folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, enjoy your book club.
It's beginning to get light and there are a lot of clouds about so a rainy day is probably in store. Yesterday stayed dry until tea time when the heavens opened.
Sorry to hear all your sad news TA, hugs to you.
So happy for you that you could have the little one to stay dp1, hope she gets on well at school.
Happy painting taff!
You must be pleased to have Rob back Ruby.
My blood test came back fine so I've ordered more of the horrid tablets, all for the sake of a yucky toenail. If I get through taking the tablets for another month or so hopefully I won't have to take them again.
Hope you are all well and have a good day, take care. XX9 -
Morning all
Damp here and been raining most of the night and is due to be most of the day I think, I have three people coming today which will be nice Rob was in fine form yesterday and seemed to love being out which is nice, it’s one of my other clients 60th Birthday today and he has decided he would like to go to McDonald’s for lunch which would not be my choice but each to their own !
Dinner tonight will be ham egg and chips dd is off today so she can peel and chop up some potatoes later, we had the carbonara last night which was delicious.
I had six missed calls from Robs mum last night while I was cooking / eating dinner 🙄 she just wanted to know what time drop off and pick up was today, I have told her this info so many times (the times never change )and written it down but she keeps losing the info, I used to email her the night before which was fine it only took me a few seconds but now her laptop has died it’s a 20 minute phone call twice a week which tbh I can do without especially when she always calls at dinner time, anyway I have made a small credit card sized thing up with the times on and laminated it so she can keep it in her purse and will hopefully stop her ringing all the time, it’s not a huge problem just inconvenient when I am trying to cook etc.
Camelot I hope the continuing tablets knock the manky toe on the head xx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. It's foggy and gloomy outside but at lest it's mild so no heating needed this morning.
The funeral yesterday went well, as far as funerals go, and it was lovely at the "do" afterwards to meet up with f & f I haven't seen for ages. And as a bonus the husband and two sons of my SIL who passed at the w/e joined us after the funeral too. At the moment they all seem to be feeling relieved that her suffering is over but I think the finality of it hasn't hit them yet. But I was given yet more sad news (will it ever end?) when my SIL told me her husband (my late Bob's youngest brother) was starting with dementia too. I have never had so many cases of it among family and friends as now. I suppose that's the price I am paying for living to be an old f*rt.
Well today is my own now as DF texted to say her DH has got so strung up about the brain scan tomorrow that he is threatening to cancel it!! Obviously she daren't leave him alone in case he does, so we have postponed lunch until Thursday (depending how he is)
I may go in town and resume my search for some smart black trousers this morning. The last pair I got were exchanged for a pair of black jeans! I get much more wear out of jeans but I like a pair of smart trousers for justin!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning all. After a lovely day on Monday today is not so promising though the mist has cleared since I had my shower. The red cabbage got made yesterday. I cut it up before leaving for the exercise class so it was ready to go, I only had to add in the apples and a bit of water. Right at the end a little touch of vinegar and red currant jelly were the final bits. Most of it is in the freezer, I've kept one portion out to have this week. Once again, the smell is so evocative of my life with the family. Now it's just me so I need the lovely memories to keep me going! The class was rather depleted as six or seven had all gone off into town for their COVID vaccinations. Anyway, it was good and I worked extra hard, especially with the resistance bands. My lovely snag tights are looking the worse for years of use so I've ordered a couple of new pairs of merino wool ones, they are so cosy without being too weighty. I've also ordered a new pan as the one I use the most has a non-stick coating, it's still intact but I do worry about it anyway. That got me thinking about being MSE - it can't mean not buying anything new 'just because'. I've spent my life being relatively low paid (teaching) and scrimping a lot, now that I am retired I need to get out of the saving for savings sake mode. So, a new pan and two new pairs of tights it is!@Scarlet - enjoy the book club, it's a great social thing.@Camelot - well done on having good blood!@Ruby - what a nuisance and what a great idea. Fingers crossed that Rob's mum doesn't lose it. Carbonara - yum.@TA - you are having a difficult time just now. You're right about it coming with age, doesn't make it any better though. There's a few of us doing painting, building, decluttering, gardening and generally being busy so I hope it all goes well today.10

Morning, dry here as the forecast rain hasn't arrived yet, although thunderstorms are apparently on the way.
Yesterday turned out to be very productive, I got a lot of those bits and pieces jobs out of way. Overdue paperwork sorted into things to be filed away and others to be burnt. Envelopes cut up for scrap paper for shopping lists etc. Hand wash bottles topped up and an inventory of the tin cupboard. Rough menu plan made for the week.
Dinner tonight will be a tray bake of mushrooms onions and tomatoes with belly pork on top. I'm going to try slow cooking it on top of the wood burner, a first for me but I have seen it done on the internet.
TA, thinking of you, when will this bad news end?
Dp1, hope little one enjoys school.
Ruby, do you think Robs mum is lonely and needs someone to talk to? Not always convenient for you though.
Have a good day, love to all x

Hello all, we had very heavy rain overnight but it's stopped for now.
Yesterday I finally got our meds even though I still had to wait for Mr Fix It's to be bagged up. The pharmacy was very busy, it's quite a small space so everyone had to keep shuffling around and there was a row going on in there between a man and the pharmacist, seems another script had gone missing between surgery and pharmacy and neither places would accept responsibility. His parting shot was "if she dies in the night because she has no medication I'll drop her off on your doorstep", he was very, very angry.
The washing dried a bit outside yesterday but it's now dry and ready to put away, then I shall be pottering around until I have to go to the surgery for my flu jab this afternoon.
TA sorry that you have had yet more bad news.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Take care all, hugs available if you need one

I’m late today finished a cleaning job took little dog for a walk and applied for my new passport on line then popped to the post office to post my old one back I’m not very good with technology but I found it easy enough to do that doesn’t mean to say it’s right we will see . It’s a miserable dark day but I’m meeting a friend tonight just for a catch up it’s just someone I met at fat club a few years ago but we hit it off but she’s had a run of bad luck and I’ve never seen her for a while she’s got a lot on her plate so it will be nice for her to have a break for a couple of hours. TA I’m sorry you have had more bad news sometimes it just seems as if it’s never ending. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing7
