Employer Asking for my passport for Amazon Admin

Hi i would be very grateful for any advice.
I have been with my employeer 4 months - 2 months before propation ends.
They want to add me to their Amazon account as an admin.
I 'believe' amazon are now asking for passport ID verification to be an admin on their behalf for security.
I am not comfortable with this, and I feel it may cause me (and the company) problems if I refuse.
Also, does being a named 'admin' make me liable if we had any issues, like closing down and owing customers refunds... I liek the company but I don't really know the CEOS well,..it could end up them making 6 figures in sales if their site do well..i feel quite nervous about it.
I want to contact my HR armed with sensible questions, regarding the GDPR and liabilities.
Thank you for any advice

I think you've got some perfectly sensible questions in your post. HR need to explain to you exactly what is involved in the role, what personal liability, if any, could arise and what insurances they have in place if anything 'goes wrong' on their Amazon account.gwynnington said:Hi i would be very grateful for any advice.I have been with my employeer 4 months - 2 months before propation ends. They want to add me to their Amazon account as an admin.I 'believe' amazon are now asking for passport ID verification to be an admin on their behalf for security.I am not comfortable with this, and I feel it may cause me (and the company) problems if I refuse. Also, does being a named 'admin' make me liable if we had any issues, like closing down and owing customers refunds... I agree with Marcon. Ask the questions you have raised here and make absolutely certain that you will have no liability, financial or otherwise if there are problems. Get it in writing.

There won't be any personal liability.
Amazon are just contacting a Know Your Customer check and have to under FCA regulations.0
