New Tesco Challenges Oct 2024

Just had the new Tesco Challenges land in my app (October 2024, not the one from earlier this year).  Choose 10 categories, then shop by Nov 10th. My question is is this misleading? Each challenge has a scale, eg Spend £30 = 270 points, £41 = 560 points, £52 = 940 points, heavily implying that if I spend £30 I get 270 points. Searching online, I'm getting the impression that I only get any points at all if I complete it up to the max of 940 points (in this case), so the scale on the app is entirely misleading.  Am I right, and if so should people be warned?

  • More on Tesco Challenges.  If you have Clubcard points you're going to convert to a cash voucher, make sure you only use the voucher to pay for items that DON'T come under the Challenges scheme, then pay for the Challenges items separately on a different receipt.  Otherwise if you pay for them all together, some of the voucher value will be taken off the Challenge items, meaning you have less towards the target at the end of the month.  I'm pretty unlikely to reach the targets anyway, but Tesco is being incredibly petty and taking a proportion of my voucher off the Challenges items.  Am told its in the T&Cs  Oh really, seem to have missed that!
  • I received an email to take part in the club card challenges. Chose my challenges including one to shop five times in store or online spending more than fifteen pounds. However, shopped four times spends not recorded. Contacted customer services who informed me they didn’t think this was included. Sent screenshot, then told I had to wait 28 days. Yesterday received an email to check progress of my challenges only to find original in store shop had been replaced with on line shop or using app and having to spend over £25! This seems a real problem as if I want to change a challenge and already had bought the products I can’t change it. I wondered if anyone else had encountered the same problem. Customer services seem not to understand the issue.
  • Not sure if its true but have seen online that Tesco Challenges are coming back this Wednesday 20th Nov.

But does seem very fast as the last one only ending just over a week ago but we will see on Wednesday if its true or not.

Signed up for the challenge.  Did first shop today and according to the dashboard I have spent nothing on any of my selected challenges even though I did purchase some specified items.  Looks like a waste of time to me.

I have the invitation email but I can't sign up for the challenge (even if I knew what it was!) because the bally thing won't load- the little circle just goes round..... and round....... ad infinitem!

I can't work out exactly who to contact- tried to reply but that is an unmonitored email address, All the contact details given seem irrelevant

All of mine have taken a day or 2 to get added so i would check the day after you shopped and you should see what you have spend so far on the challenge.

I do not think you need a email to sign up for it as if you go into the Clubcard app and go to the Clubcard tab you should see the Challenges box which is red and then just click on play now and it will take you to whatever challenges they have given you and then just pick the 10 Challenges that you want to do.

Hope that helps and as i say you do not need the email just the Clubcard app to join up.

Thanks for your reply but I don't have smart phone & therefore no app!

I shall probably just tell myself that it probably refers to branded goods that I don't buy anyway!
