Good morning Gers, thanks for starting.
Looks dry out there, I might get some more washing out today. I'll see how it looks when it gets light.
Chrisca your bacon and cheese bread sounds delicious, unfortunately I don't have a breadmaker. I know I could make bread in the usual way but it doesn't seem worth it just for me , DH doesn't eat much bread.
Derek, you're keeping busy, hope the lady can sort Showman's back out.
Glad the little one is doing well DP1.
I might go out to a local shopping centre today, I've seen a padded jacket online at Mata*an, I think I'll go and try it on. It's a nice cheerful red.
Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of our poorly people.
Take care folks.

Yesterday was such a miserably dark and wet day that, after my morning excursions, I stayed indoors. I think that more rain is forecasted for over the weekend.First thing I'm going out to collect the meds prescribed yesterday. Then I plan to make more lentil and leek soup and, if I CBA, cook some red cabbage. This will be for Christmas to go with the venison, it improves with freezing and tolerates it. Cutting it is a messy job which stains hands so I wear nitrile gloves. I once used my food processor and found it such a faff. The cabbage still needed cut up into chunks and then the machine has to be washed. One knife and a large bowl makes for a simple life.Because I found a packet of dill at the SM yesterday I'm also planning to make some cucumber salad. Again, my DM regularly made this for me whenever I went to stay with her. I could actually smell it when going into the hall. Such a lovely memory. Of course, all these plans could all be pushed aside if a good film comes on the TV. 😱😀
I hope that the weekend isn't too wet for everyone. Take care.12 -
Morning allWeather looks to be dry today which is good as I have a load of washing to put out later.Scarlet the flavour is even stronger when toasted, as I found out yesterday. Breadmaker is in a top cupboard and I get DH to get it down occasionally otherwise the temptation is always there. Luckily I can't get it down myself as I'm lacking in the height department!Nothing much planned today. Have hit a wall re family tree so might give it another go.Hope everyone has a good day x10

Morning folks and thanks for starting us off GERS. Another absolutely beautiful sunrise above the moors and we are forecast another lovely day. Sadly it sounds as though we are nearing the end of the run of nice days, with rain forecast tomorrow.
I have my flu jab this morning at B**ts, with my Covid jab booked for next Saturday. I could have had them both together at the surgery but B**ts is easier to get to so I have settled on two trips as I usually pop into town on a Saturday anyway. I have a small list of stuff to get afterwards then straight back home. A bag of something nice will be coming with me for my Strictly fix tonight. Bottle already chilling.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Dp1 your DGD sounds to be back at her usual perky self. She sounds like what my lovely grandma would have called 'a little cough drop' Goodness knows where that saying comes from! Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning All
Dank and dark this morning, I think the sun has gone on it's holidays! The only washing I have is 20 waterproof suits (jackets and leggings) we found in a cupboard at school which will do for the Primary 1's outdoor play. They are a pain to wash and dry but I'll get there.
I'm off to a wedding today, still not sure what I'm wearing but will be calling at DS1's to get ready so will ask his partner (not him, he'll just say everything is ok!). The bonus is I will have a little cuddle with the new baby so a win all round.
Hope you're all well and have a good weekend, take care. XX10 -

Morning all
Bright and sunny here which is nice we need to make the most of it as it’s due to rain most of the week, OH has his work clothes in the wm which will be hung out when finished.
OH is off to visit his mum with his dad and is then off for a walk with his friend and the dogs so I will have a lovely day to myself I think I will have a nice long bath and then watch a film with the fire on 😃
Dinner tonight will be chicken curry with OH’s famous Bombay potatoes and curried green beans it’s a delicious meal and no cooking for me which is a bonus.
Gers your cucumber salad sounds delicious do you have a recipe or rough idea how to make it ? Xx
Camelot have a great time at the wedding xx
Have good day all and take care xx10 -
Hello all, it's not too bad a day but the weather is said to be going down hill later.
I didn't get round to sorting the wardrobe yesterday because I got roped in to help sort the office, it looks much tidier but I don't know how much more will go out. We found the old breadmaker in there, no idea why we kept it 🤷♀️ because I have a new one (probably for parts for Mr Fix It 😏) so it was put out for the scrappy man and collected this morning. I don't use my breadmaker much either as we tend to cut chunks off it and it's no good for the waistline. It's surprising how much stuff you can get in a small room, it's like the Tardis.
There is a now a lot of old paperwork to shred so I may make a start on that, or not, as I am stuck to the sofa at the moment and not fussed about moving. Tea tonight will be a pasta dish.
Camelot have a lovely day at the wedding, best wishes to the couple for a long and happy marriage.
Hope everyone has a lovely day whatever your plans.
Take care all

Gers your cucumber salad sounds delicious do you have a recipe or rough idea how to make it ? XxRoughly, no measurements!Peel and very finely slice some cucumber. Salt it and then put it into a colander (or something similar), put a heavy weight over it and wait until most of the moisture / water has come out. Mix plain yoghurt with lemon juice and seasoning to taste. Keep tasting until it become yummy. The scattered dill is an enhancement and not necessary.I found this recipe online. It uses sour cream rather than yoghurt and vinegar rather than lemon juice - I've never had that variation.I've got my cream and spray for my ears now, after only one application the itching has greatly reduced, thank goodness. No start made on the red cabbage or soup, maybe later or probably tomorrow!
