MotoNovo mistake - accept the offer or hold out for a better deal?

A friend of mine has received the attached letter relating to a loan on a vehicle he purchased.

MotoNovo has acknowledged a mistake and proposed a settlement. Should he accept the offer or hold out for a better deal?

On the face of it, the offer of the account being closed and writing off the £2,428.60 outstanding amount looks quite generous – and which in real terms is saving him around £250 a month.

However, I wonder whether he should try and pursue a better deal on the grounds of the financial impact of the error to him and his family.

Any advice gratefully received on whether you think the offer is fair or if you think he has grounds to negotiate for more. Thank you.

What financial impact ?  It looks like they didn't send the necessary paperwork when he fell into arrears for which they will get their wrists slapped by the regulator and as recompense they are writing off the outstanding amount.  What more does he want ?  Bite their hands off before they change their minds !

  • Thanks everyone for your speedy responses. I think that's pretty clear advice so case closed.
