I lied to my partner about my debts, after they have bailed me out previously.
I came clean this week and I have been trying to work out a way of paying back my debts as soon as possible but with interest rates, I’m taking from one credit card to pay another.
is step change and a dmp a good route to go down?
I have £13000 in debts. Credit cards, and online shopping such as very and next

You know that has to stop, also you need to be able to prove to your partner that you are taking control of the situation.
Normally here a DIY version of a DMP is recommended, but you may find the simplest solution that can most easily be shown to your partner is best, so a StepChange DMP. Do not underestimate your expenses when talking to StepChange, you want amounts you can really live on without having to borrow more.1 -
OK So you have come clean so that is the first step.
Whatever you do don't rush into any solution until you fully understand what you are doing any why you are doing it.
You need to look at why you were using credit and how have you changed so you won't need to use credit any more.

You need to complete a honest SOA and an accurate one.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.2 -
Do you have any joint accounts with your partner? If so, separate your accounts do that you don't damage your partner's credit rating.
It's impossible to advise beyond that without more information, what's your debt to salary ratio? How much of your income is spent on housing and essentials?
Very and Next interest rates will be vicious. Stop using them. Find everything you bought that you can sell, return if possible and hit vinted etc.
Audit your clothes and learn to live with them.
Do a full SOA and let's see what's possible.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing1 -
The first step is to stop spending more than you can afford. Any other action will still result in the same situation occuring again and again.
