19 days of sickness calculated cero pay!

Please someone that  that could help me?

My sick note was from 19 August to 13 Sept counting 19 days. and this is the calculation on my Sept Payslip. (gross salary is £2572.50) ( my work is 9 to 5, and counted as 40 hrs a week, but I was never paid by hour)

Occup sick                                              1187.31
sick (hrs)      91(hrs) rate (-14.8413)           - 1350.76
SSP                                                           163.45
Earnings                                                     0.0

Last year I was sick from 25 Jul to 17 Sept, counting 37 days.
payslip on Sept was the following.
Occup Sick                                               - 1187.31
Occup Sick                                                  1187.31
SSP                                                               568.88
Earning                                                          £568.88

and the following month (Oct)
Salary                                                        2572.50
Back pay                                                   1187.31
Bonus                                                          500
Expenses claim                                             54.39
sick (days)  -15.67    rate -118.7308         -1860.11
Earnings                                                    £2454.09

The company pays 10 days full pay.

Unfortunately, I have issues with the company and are not being responsive. I'm not sure what are the calculating, since they do not want to send me an absence report.

Please could you help me understand. I just know that it's not possible. I just was given  -209.80 from Tax!

Many thanks!

    what's the actual question?
your salary has been reduced by the time you were sick and statutory sick pay paid in its place.
the company pays 10 days per what sick pay?

Most (not all) company sick pay schemes work on a rolling year. If your firm does, then as some of the dates overlap with your sick leave dates from last year that could be why.

Also, most (again not all) sick pay schemes are "discretionary" and you have had a significant amount of sick leave in total so maybe they are using their discretion not to pay. Maybe particularly as you have some "issues" with the company?

You are of course still entitled to SSP (c. £100 per week) after the first three days.

Hi, I had spoken with HRMC in regards of SSP and they confirmed considering the occupational sick pay of 10 days, 9 days should have been SSP.

So basically I should have earned £1714:

    -          10 days of Occupational Sick Pay (OSP) -> £1187.31

    -          9 days of Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) -> £210.15

    -          The remaining portion of my monthly salary à £316.61

Also in regards of the previous sick calculations, I was put suspension awaiting disciplinary decision during those periods, and because company policy is full pay during suspension, and there is no mention around that in suspension in contract, I shall be paid my full salary.

Probably best to have a word with ACAS's free helpline: 0300 123 1100

At least 3 working days appear to overlap a rolling year. Sick pay is rarely reset on an annual basis but rolls forward. Primarily to stop people gaming the system.
