I am running a licensed raffle and wondering how do you post this competition and where are the best places to promote it?

Self-promotion is against the rules here, so you're not allowed to post a competition that you're running.
  • Thank you but it is a fundraising raffle for a charity called Prospect Hospice, so I don't think it is self-promotion.

It is classed as self promotion because as you said…

I am running a licensed raffle

I’m sure if your site is easy to find then the competition will be posted in the correct place as long as doesn’t cost more than the £2.10 limit for purchase necessary competitions

Posting is a privilege, not a right. This is a privately-owned site. Posting is a privilege, not a right. Any inappropriate posts or any issues that take up a disproportionate amount of resources or make it a worse place to be will be stopped at our discretion - with or without explanation. No one pays to use this site; when there are issues, we pay to resolve them. Sometimes we need to prioritise spending money on the site, other issues or better resources.
Please be nice to all MoneySavers. That’s the forum motto. Remember, the prime aim is to help provide info and resources. If you don’t like someone, their situation, their question or feel they’re intruding on ‘your board’ then please bite the bullet and think of the bigger issue. A Guardian article once "doffed its cap" to this forum as being the one place where consumers can collect together and fight back. Our job is to help keep it that way.

You could try advertising this via social media, most of the groups I know only allow for free competitions/giveaways but I'm sure there will be some places you can advertise the raffle, you could send it out on your charities email newsletter, social media channels, local Facebook groups if they allow it - each group will have different rules.

Sadly you cannot advertise it here - self promotion also covers sharing competitions for someone you know or are involved with.
I understand this is for charity but I believe a blanket ban is on this.

There used to be a thread for charity fundraising but I think this was removed too, due to the number of people miss using it.

If you are unhappy with this answer, you could try asking the forum team themselves, to clarify:

Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.

The responses in this thread are correct - you may not post on this Forum about any competition you have a hand in organising, whether professionally or for a good cause.
