Change of position and responsibilities

Hi
Iv been with a new company for 3 months in a manager position I applied for a lower position role over a month ago with the same business . I have not been given a update when I would be transferred over to the new role until yesterday. I had email from hr that my new role would start on 1 Oct. My boss has gone on holiday for a wk and they expect me to still take on the responsibility while he is away as was my old job. My new job starting from today is far lower paid and does not include these responsibilities. I am having daily meetings with another senior manager, should I mention it to him? I feel disappointed that no communication has been given to me about the handover of roles and them expecting me to look after things while he is away. Am I being petty
Thanks

You’ve been there three months and have already stepped down from one position.Sometimes it’s better to put up with it for a week rather than make a fuss. Although at some point you might want to clarify expectations for the future when your manager is next on leave? But if you’ve you stepped down to a deputy type role it’s not unusual to cover some of the responsibilities for short periods of time. It’s about picking your battles and as things stand I would suggest this one probably isn’t worth fighting. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Are you still in your probationary period with the Company ?0

If it's only for a week, then yes, you probably are getting a bit too fussed about it.flopsy1973 said:Hi

ThanksGoogling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
They’ve been there three months, so either way they have no employment protection.Hoenir said:Are you still in your probationary period with the Company ?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
