Good morning, still dark but not raining.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
Great news dp1, hope everything has settled down now, you must be over the moon.
Miserable day weatherwise yesterday, I did some shopping for some tights - guess what I forgot to get! Seemed to spend a good deal of money on not much anyway.
I finished knitting the cardigan for the little one, just need to sew it up now and put buttons on - that'll probably take another few weeks the speed I go at.
Back to work today for another short week. I have the docs this afternoon for another blood test to check the tablets for my manky toenail aren't doing any harm elsewhere.
Hugs to everyone in need. Take care. XX11 -
Good morning allGreat news Dp1. Lets hope everything settles down for you all now xWell I made the soup yesterday. Thanks for the recipe @TravellingAbuela. A couple of taste tests and I really liked it. Got a small bowl for lunch today the rest I've frozen into portions. Not sure what to do today. I had it in my head I had a blood test today but when I've just checked it's tomorrow! At least I realised before I turned up 24 hours early. I should go out for a walk as I haven't been for a while because of the wet weather. My knee pain is always better after exercise but the local park will probably be like a mud bath. We'll see what the weather does as I might just go for a walk along the road instead of sitting on my exercise bike.Have a good day all x11

Morning all. Pinch punch. The exercise class yesterday was so good, I definitely felt that it was more difficult after not being for a few weeks. It was also good to see all the others too and then something lovely happened. I was chatting (not something I am prone to) to one of the women about moving into the area when I asked her where she was from. Her answer was the small town which was my first home in the UK when my father was posted back home. The only person I remember from those dim and distant days was the local post office owner - she had known her too and spoke about the Christmas displays in the back of the PO which is a strong memory of mine. What a joyous moment! This is the second time in two months that I've had a random and unexpected meeting with a stranger with a connection to my childhood. Wiil there be a third??Today could a fine, yesterday was fairly miserable so I'm hoping so. My monthly banking will get down, at least some of it with a little bit left for tomorrow.Hugs to everyone.12

Morning all
Very cold here this morning I have a blanket over my knees not quite ready for the central heating yet but it won’t be too long, we are lighting the fire in the evenings though.
Two people coming today no Rob 🙄 I went to bed at 9 last night and there was a garbled message on the answerphone this morning saying that he had bowel problems again, I am convinced he has no problem it’s more that she can’t be bothered to get him up and out the door in the morning - we will see what tomorrow brings.
DD is working late again today so OH and I will have a baked sweet potato for dinner with cheese and beans with some salad, there is ham if OH wants it too.
DP good news all round for you I hope they continue to be well xx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning all, thanks Scarlet. I didn't venture out of the house yesterday at all, the rain was so heavy, apart from a quick walk with pooch first thing. There was some flooding on the local roads, and I could hear the water roaring into the chamber at the front of our cottages that was installed after we were flooded ( almost 9 years ago now
). I'm very thankful for the chamber. The excess water gets sent down into the river across the road.
Even though I didn't go out I seemed to be on the go non stop, kept meaning to have a minute with my book but didn't get round to it until after tea. I made a Thai curry, which went down well. It's a friends birthday today - I'll give her a ring this afternoon.I shall probably cook the gammon joint later, it's quick in the electric pressure cooker. I'll slice the rest up thinly and DH can have some on sandwiches for his lunches. He is trying to cut down on sugar and salt, and lose a bit of weight as his BP is on the high side, he may have to get some tablets from the docs. He doesn't want any delays to his hip surgery. I got some sugar free jam & biscuits for him, so hoping that helps.Glad to see both patients are back home now @dp1Hope your happy memories were a comfort to you yesterday TA.Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone
Thank you all for your good wishes - its always so helpful to share with you all on here.
Gers you reminded me of Dumpling with your 'pinch punch' I wonder how her family are getting on.
And of Nels too
How lovely for the lady to be from your home town...I'm like you...in real life I sometimes have to make myself talk to new people, it doesn't come as naturally as it seems to do for others.
It's windy and dull here, I'll make my packed lunch for work and then go down the hill to check mam and dad are both ok. Then I can get the bus straight down to work later.
Has anyone been to the V and A at Dundee? I'm thinking of going on a little trip there in the October school holidays, there's an interesting looking exhibition of Japanese kimonos.
Hope everyone has a good day x11 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. It's very gloomy here but at least it's not raining. I think we are due to escape the worst of today's offerings..
I am a latecomer but, unusual for me, I was slightly later waking up. I didn't feel better for the longer sleep though, I still felt half doped. Then I was faced with a job I cba doing last night! Youngest DGD had invited herself for tea after school and for ease we had pizzas. I have no idea how it happened but one of the pizzas (mine!!) ended up flat on it's face in the bottom of the oven! What a mess. Of course the oven was hot and the mess started burning on and smelling. I gave it a good spraying to keep it soft and shut the oven door on it! And that's how it stayed until this morning when I had to tackle the mess. All done now!
Hopefully no cooking to be done today as I am meeting my DF for lunch. Unless I hear differently if her DH gets up in one of his strange moods - which should be any time now!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Good news from Dp1 and long may it stay that way this time. GERS everything comes in threes they say so watch out for the next stranger you meet. Lots of blood tests happening today and tomorrow so I hope all goes well. Take care all stay safe xx

Morning! Well, after the rpmise of no rain for a week it's raining so I'm going to have t unearththe tumble because altough my pants collection is almost as impressive as Gers, it's not enough for four weeks worth
I'm down to the last few pairs of pants you only wear if you really have to...I had to bit the bullet and order a printer yesterday because I have various things that need printing off, for returns or for other stuff. Got one which said 25 percent off so at least there's that. Tiles, showers and printer should be coming today and they were going to be starting rendering but who knows in this weather. We've been quite lucky so far, they finished off the outside before the rain set in properly, so at least the inside is bobbing along. Still no joy on colour choices, I expect in the end I'll just pick one and be done in exasperation. It's not the decorating of spaces I enjoy, it's the using of them.
dp1, gld to see she's home again, and yes, reminds me of dumpling too and Nels. Gers, good to hear you enjoyed your class and had a ramdom moment of synchronicityRuby, I expect the wheels are still grinding slowly for rob...? ooo...fire in the evening, nice! Rosy, thank god for engineering, glad you're not flooded! TA, that's a bit unlucky with the pizza, well done for cleaning so quickly [ if it had been me it would have sat for a week until it grew a new civiliation
] enjoy your meal out! camelot, did you try all the uual stuff first, like dipping it in cider vinegar and stuff? fingers crossed it's better though...WL, well done for directing traffic
Nanny, I wish my freezer would chuck up a gataeu every now and again
snoozer, fingers crossed an appointment comes up son for you. Have a good day all!

Morning all, we have mizzling rain here which is probably set in for the day. We had a good time with DD and the DGC yesterday, lots of chatting about anything and everything. Tea was enjoyed by everyone although 3 topped up their beef pie with extra slow cooked beef so then I only had one lot to put into the freezer. DD brought me 10 books to add to my reading pile, so I swapped her some that I had already read.
DGS told me about his English exam, he thinks he's done ok, while DGD was worrying that she had someone else's shoes on, they have to take them off for drama and many of the girls have the same pair, plus she's also lost one football shoe ! Bless her she's so ditsy !
Today I have to go to Dad's to deliver his shopping, have a coffee and sort out his mail. He can't seem to work out what's what lately unless it's about money, he's still hot on that subject !
dp1 glad all the family are home, long may that last.
TA my oven could do with cleaning too if you fancy it 😂
Gers thanks for the pinch punch, I didn't realise it was Oct 1st. Time's flying this year.
Right I'd better get ready for Dad's.
Take care all, stay warm and well. Hugs to any poorly ones. Hope all the appointments go well today.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12 -
Morning everyone supposed to be dry here it’s pouring down just got in from a cleaning job I’m making dinner tonight from some left over sliced beef left over from Sunday I will have to take the dog for a walk later as hubby is giving my daughter in law a lift to the eye hospital at Sunderland she goes once a year she was in a horrible accident years ago she’s lucky to be here but she lost her some of her sight strangely it has nothing to do with her eyes it’s her brain telling her she can’t see to the side on her left eye but she has to be checked every year. Gers pleased you enjoyed your class I’m waiting for a third person to bump into you stranger things have happened I’m another who always thinks of Dumpling it was so sad . TAFF your building work is flying along will it be all done and dusted for Santa coming I got a lovely colour for my kitchen it a greeny gray blue which explains nothing but I love it not to light or to dark but looks fresh the pale grey I had on was to cold . TA one of my most hated jobs cleaning the oven well done on tackling it . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10
