Hi
Ive recently had correspondence from Virgin Money credit services in relation to my mortgage, which doesn’t contain their logo (which I find a bit strange) but also which gives a telephone number different to the one that appeared on all their correspondence until earlier this year and which is the one normally listed for them: 0345 609 9837. The recent correspondence has an 0800 number: 0800 7318140 which when I check on google doesn’t seem to register as a VM number. I may be being overly suspicious, but am painfully aware that these days it’s worth erring on side of caution. Does anyone else dealing with VM credit services have this new number on any official correspondence?
Thanks!

Call the number on paperwork you know is legit or on their website.

Thanks for your response. To clarify, my mortgage is in arrears which is why I assumed it was passed over to their ‘credit services’ team. I assume that would be standard practice? All previous letters from them have contained the 0345 number which is the one I am choosing to continue using. I just found it odd that they would start listing a new number on letters when the old one is still in use. And the very last letter I had from them this week shows the 0345 number. Everything else about the letters with the 0800 number look the same apart from no logo and no fax number included…0

I dont know the answer, but if you call the normal number you can ask if the letter is legit and if you can be put through to the correct department.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
