Default Notice Paperwork

Hi All (again),
Apologies for another post, this time about a different issue though.. 😉
My default accounts are due to slowly drop off my credit report over the next few months, most have actually now gone and only two remain.
However in attempting to locate and file some of the old paperwork, I can’t locate three of the default notices for Barclaycard, HSBC and Aqua.
I am pretty adamant that both Barclaycard and HSBC issued one and all three have been showing on my report as defaults for the last 6 years however I am now concerned as I have no record for them and slightly questioning the Aqua one as this is now with Cabot who updated the default to when they bought the debt.
Is it worth me contacting the creditors to get confirmation of the default date so I have this for any future issues? Or am I opening a can of worms and if they’re no longer on my report or show as defaults need not worry?

The date of default will not be shown on a default notice, it can be used only as a guide.
That document gives you 14 days from the date on the letter in order for you to remedy the breach to your account, otherwise a default may be registered on your credit file.
In practice it may be much longer than 14 days until a default gets registered, so the DF cannot be relied upon to show the date of default, only on your credit file is the exact date of default recorded, no where else.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
