need some advice to how sickness pay works .
I’m looking to find out how the time frame works .
So when does a period of sickness drop off to not be included in that year ?
So say you were off April 1 /2023 for 50 days and returned 20th may 23.
When does that then not get counted into a sickness period of full pay for 6 months then half pay period so to speak?

If you’re talking about employers sick pay you need to look at your specific contract, however most companies count sickness over a rolling 12 month period. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
There can be huge differences between schemes; I'd talk to your HR team for clarification.2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000

As above, it does depend on the scheme, but in my experience it's almost always rolling and not "reset".

Again, as above.
Plus, the vast majority (but not all) company sick pay schemes are "discretionary" rather than a hard and fast entitlement. In which case the rules are in fact guidelines or examples of normal policy. However the company has reserved the right to exercise its discretion, either way, depending on how it sees the situation. Legally really quite wide discretion is allowed and can only be challenged if it is so far off as to be "perverse" or amounts to unlawful discrimination on one of the handful of legally protected grounds.0 -
To answer your question, with many firms/organisations a day off sick on 19 May 2023 would cease being counted in a 12 month period on 20 May 2024.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales1
