Hi bindiboo,
You may get more replies on the Moneysaving Old Style board, so I hope that you don't mind if I move it over there.

I got my smoothie maker and I'm thinking about trying to make some sangria with it! Just wondering how you guys would do this? I've been looking at recipes but they all say something different, getting a bit confused. What is actually in Sangria? I loved it in Gran Canaria

As far as I know, sangria is:
Red/White wine (1 litre)
Orange juice (1 cup)
Brandy (1 large glass)
Tablespoon sugar or gomme syrup
Topped up with lemonade
Throw in chopped fruit (apples, oranges, lemon)
Quantities can be altered to taste. Have fun experimenting.

Thank you
now I just need to get some money. Is brandy expensive? Never bought it. A cheap bottle of wine will do, right? There's a £2.10 bottle at Tesco

Yeah, cheap wine is great for this... you can pick up fairly decent quality brandy in Lidl or Aldi for under £10, you won't need cognac for sangria, in fact it'll probably taste better with cheaper stuff!"All cruelty springs from weakness" - Lucius Annaeus SenecaPersonal pronouns are they/them/their, please.

Hi Drea,
I've added your post to an earlier one on making sangria to keep all the replies together.
