Cheapest dry cleaner for a wool coat, or can it be done on a cold wash?

Thank you for sharing. It was a learning experience for me because I sent my coat for dry cleaning and it came back stinking of dry cleaning chemicals which I found slightly nauseating. I let it air for a couple of weeks to no avail and at that point there was nothing to lose so I put it in a laundry bag on a cold cycle, using dp liquid soap and dp washing soda. It came out ok but still with the chemical smell so then i put it on a cold cycle with presoak for 3 hours. The length possibly shrunk very slightly, and I should have broken up the soda crystals in cold water, but it is now wearable.0
