Rental income on deceased parent’s property.

I am renting out my deceased mother’s property the rent is being paid to the local council to reduce a large outstanding care home bill of hers.
Do I need to declare the income or is it for her estate?
Thank you.

  • I think you need to clarify whether you are the executor and where you are in the probate process.

  • I am the executor and probate has been granted. Just not sure who has to declare the rental income.
  • This might be better on the Life & Family/Marriage, Relationships and Families/Deaths, Funerals & Probate board.

I believe at the moment the house, debt and rental income are all the estate’s.
