Considering a debt consolidation loan - need a sense-check before committing

  • Speak to Santander about moving to a Choice Current Account, they can move your account and cap your interest at £30 a month. Short term solution only though.
  • Hey OP - first question from me is why the discrepancy in the amount of debt -v- the amount of loan you are considering? That seems illogical, as consolidation shouldn’t be about increasing debt! It also suggests that perhaps you are still relying on credit for day to day living or lifestyle choices - is that a fair assessment? If so, a consolidation loan is 100% not for you.

I’d agree with the suggestion that you should probably pop over to the Debt Free Wannabe board and get some solid advice on your situation over there.
