healthcare plan and pregnency

Just a quick question regarding healthcare plans?

are there any out there (or do the current ones on the market) cover pregnency?

ie:
cover the cost of scans, delivery/birth staying in hospital etc?

or are they only for healthcare things like hernias, joints, heart problems etc etc???

I'm not aware of any. In my time, I've had insurance with BCWA, Bupa and Axa PPP and none of these did, though they do pay out a (small) lump sum for the birth, and also some of them will pay for complications after the birth, eg haemorrege.

Most health plans won't pay for things which they class as "optional" so not pregnancy and childbirth, and not cosmetic surgery.
