Hi there I have started a new job and I’m in training so do I tell the job center I have a new job or wait until I finish my training and fully begin the job to tell them I’m worried they might request money back or have me done for fraud I’m having panic attacks thinking about it and is stressing me out on what to do

Are you being paid in full for doing the training?

You need to tell them when you get a job, and the start date. It's about when you start your paid employment.Yes you'll spend some time training when you start a job...you possibly also have a probationary period, but the job centre simply want to know when you start the new job0

You can and should tell them that you have a new job immediately, but it should have no impact on the calculation of your UC until you are actually paid. It won't have any impact until the assessment period that you get paid your first wages.
The reason to tell them immediately is in case they want you to come to the Job Centre on a date/time when you are required to do training.
Please don't panic or get stressed about this. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
And congratulations on the new job1

If you are getting paid for doing the training, tell them you have started a new job and are doing paid training.Credit card 1800
Overdraft 250
EF 500 -
How long is it before you start? If it's not pretty much immediate, I think you'll find they'll expect you to keep job hunting so that they don't have to pay benefit for as many weeks until you start. So from that point of view, I can see little point in telling them very much before start, but do it before you actually start.Signature removed for peace of mind0

Having a job offer and start date doesn't mean you will actually start.Savvy_Sue said:How long is it before you start? So you should continue to job search in any case even when you have advised the job centre.0 -
When I was unemployed I had the same question and my work coach advised that once it's sure the start date then I can tell them and they will update the records.
They won't stop giving you the allowance if you tell them e.g. that you start a new job in 1 week. They will still pay you what you are entitled to until the last day before you start.0 -
You need to tell the job centre that you've started paid employment asap! You can't be recieving a salary and benefits at the same time because that puts you in a very iffy position.0
