What do you do with paper instructions manuals?

Same here, I would have loved a paper instruction manual for our new tv, all we had was one page (in numerous languages) explaining the buttons on the remote - except the remote was nothing like the one provided. You can access the manual on the television screen which isn't much help when you're dipping in and out trying to learn the finer points, and as @twopenny states, phone or tablet screens time out.1

My beloved late DM kept every single manual for every single piece of equipment from probably early 70s. Most for long disposed of, replaced and forgotten devices. Boxes of them, all neatly stored. All went to a commercial recycling company along with even more utility bills, pay slips, pension slips, used and returned cheques (remember the days?), then cheque stubs and bank statements. About 60 years worth. Now I scan almost every scrap and shred.1

Payment receipts are a whole different thing. Very useful in some sort of copy as I've had versions of 'you didn't pay' - and some of the companies claim to store them on their website then loose access or change site and they are no longer accessible as proof.Always worth keeping them in some form. With Pensions I had to go back 50yrs to make my point. I don't think they were happy when I sent my 'proof'
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

One thing I've done to cut down the amount of paper stored is to cut out the English version, put in a plastic wallet with the receipt and throw the rest away. Some manuals seem to be hefty tomes in about ten different languages!1
