Yesterday was a nice day, but chilly.
Sorry to read that dg d is in hospital again Dp1, hope it can all get sorted out.
Our boiler is being serviced today, that's the only exciting thing going on here.
We'll go to the quiz as usual tonight of course.
Everyone seems busy, hope you all have as good a day as you can today.
Take care folks.

Hi everyone
So sorry to hear about DP1’s little one and her continued struggles. Hope she gets transferred to ‘her doctors’ soon.
Yesterday was the first full day for ages I’ve been able to work on my crafts for an extended period and got loads done.Today the hot water tank is being replaced so not sure how much mess that’ll cause. Also taking DDad to physio as he can’t drive that far.Campervan to wash and vacuum too.Take care all

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Another glorious day is forecast, a rinse and repeat of yesterday when we had blue sky and sunshine all day.
Yesterday the hairdresser duly arrived and scalped me - what don't they understand about not much off!! The boiler got serviced in the afternoon as planned and inbetween their visits the garden chap phoned to see if he could call around lunchtime to assess what I wanted doing with the front wilderness. He stood looking for ages and I asked him if that was a look of despair on his face! But no, he said he had seen a lot worse, bless him! I said there is no immediate rush as it's been a mess long enough, so he is going to start it in between his other jobs. First off he is coming to dig up all the overgrown bushes which I'm sure will be a job in itself. He said he doesn't need me to be in so I can just come and go as I please.
All being well I am meeting my DF for lunch but, of course, that can change depending on what frame of mind her DH is in when he wakes up!! The last doctor's appointment didn't achieve much after all so she has made another appointment for this Thursday and hopes between them they can get across that he needs help. She has a lot to put up with.
Inbetween all the coming and going yesterday I managed to empty the pots of dying off plants in the back garden and cut back all the Japanese Anemone.. It looked very lacking in colour when I opened the blinds this morning. It seemed a shame to waste the sunshine when I had finished so I collapsed on to the garden seat with my book and enjoyed the sun. for an hour or so.
Have a lovely day if you can folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need, especially Dp1, her DD and the little one. Take care all xx

Morning all.
Another bright and sunny day forecast so I washed another two coats last night, ready to hang out this morning. That only really leaves my waterproof jacket, which I've worn a lot this year, and that will need a specialist wash to ensure it remains waterproof. I'm also awaiting contact back from the company I asked about rewaxing my wax jacket, as it has a small tear in the sleeve. I feel as though I should be on the Preparing for Winter thread with all this going on!
Today I've kept free for making some granola and then some low carb savoury muffins, which we'll have for lunch with some salad. Yesterday I used Delia Smith's recipe for the leek, onion and potato soup and it required milk, so, of course, it boiled over on the hob grrrr. I've cleaned it up now and the soup was rather tasty so might make that one again.
So sorry to hear that DP1's DGD is back in hospital; hope they can sort something out and get her back on familiar territory today.
Hope everyone else is doing ok and has a straightforward day.7 -
Morning all
Looks to be another bright day here but with a chill in the air I have had to have a blanket over my legs this morning it’s seems very cold.
Got an email from Robs mum at 10.30 last night 🙄 to say he wouldn’t be coming today as he was still poorly, I think it’s now 6 weeks since I saw him so I just hope he is ok, I have a feeling he will be fine by tomorrow though as I collect him and drop him back which is easier for her !So I only have one person today as the other is on holiday and I suspect he will want to go shopping he loves mooching around the shops which I really dislike doing but I am happy to if that’s what he wants, I had a terrible nights sleep so anything for a quiet life today.
DP1 I am so sorry to hear little one is back in hospital hopefully this will be a quick visit and she will be able to resume school soon xxx
Have good days all and take care xx7 -
Morning all, thanks Scarlet- enjoy the quiz tonight.Well done on yesterdays craft production AAllie.DP1, so sorry to hear L O is back in hospital, hope it won't be for long. I'd never heard of clown doctors so had a goo gle, and anything which makes a child happier in hospital is great. It was very foggy and cool until about midday when I went for a walk, then by the time I picked DGS up from school people were in sleeveless tops. I still had a fleece on, though got to admit it was a bit warm in the carI might grab a lift off DS, he has to make a call near MrMs, and I've run out of a few fresh things. I made some chicken and ham pies that were in the freezer, so took them out for tea.Nothing exciting happening today so I might get on with my book later.Take care all, hugs to the sad, or unwell.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning
Cloudy here but with the promise of sun later.
A very enjoyable afternoon was spent yesterday with friends. The friend who contacted me as she's moved back into the area after 5 years brought us up to speed on mutual friends activities. We've made arrangements to meet again next month.
Housework to do today, and I'm going to cook steak and kidney for a pie filling tomorrow.
Dp1, I'm so sorry to hear that your dgd in back in hospital. Sending love and hugs (and crossed fingers) to your dd and dgd.
Have a good day.
Love to all x9 -
Morning all - thanks for starting us off @scarlet.Yesterday the day was mostly lovely, not blanket sunshine but warm and fair. The only excitement was one of the cows jumped the wall and was wandering around the track calling to the rest of the herd. Once I recognised that the noise was much closer than usual I phoned the stockman and then watched it walk past my (open) front door. It settled outside the stockman's house to eat the obviously much tastier grass verge there. Luckily it was soon rounded up!This morning I have an appointment with the audiology technician, that'll do me for the day. Lunch is an easy chicken dish. Perhaps I'll make some lentil and leek soup if I remember to get leeks when I'm out.Outside is still very overcast, not promising any sunshine again. As long as the rain stays away I'll be happy. On Sunday the Rest and Be Thankful was closed again as another landslide happened, most of the mud and stuff was caught in the huge pits but the traffic was still diverted down the ancient road by convoy. This morning I hear that an artic has got stuck on one of the hairpin bends - more chaos. One day work will start on the solution, but not today. My fingers are still crossed for DP1's little one to be heading homewards to her own doctors. I hope that everyone has a good day. @TA - and that your friend makes it out to meet you.9

Good morning everyone
It's a lovely bright morning but chilly here. I've put a wash out on the line this morning, hope It will dry. I'm also washing jackets/ coats ready for the change over from summer to winter.
Off to see dear SIL this morning , doing some shopping for her on the way and then home to the garden. I think it's time to take up the sweet peas which have done quite well this year and the general tidy up continues including cleaning out the greenhouse ready for its winter residents.
So sorry to hear little one is back in hospital, hope she is transferred soon. DP1 my thoughts are with you and your DD.
Also thinking of the sad and the poorlies as usual.
Take care x11 -
Afternoon all,
Sorry to hear about @dp1’s DGD – I hope she’s doing okay. Such a little trooper xx
Back to work for me. No change to the toxic atmosphere and despite all the challenges on holiday I’d rather be back there!! Survey on our house has just been done – will wait to see what it throws up and if the FTB is happy.
Dinner is leftover BBQ meat, salad and sides again. Bonus that there’s barely any washing up to do! It’s WI tonight. My pal isn’t going as she has a virus, so I’ll pop by and collect the raffle prizes (she runs it normally) en route to the hall.
Hope your friend made it out to lunch @TravellingAbuela x
