Well after getting off the prolific waitlist I had one initial survey for £8 and have had nothing further, I keep logging in a couple of times a day and hopefully some will pop up soon enough
curious cats continues to have quite a few and I am aiming for £1-£2 a day from that - I cashed out both survey sites today at £10
debt #9 app is still not working correctly so I’ve not made any further payments, since bringing the balance down past the agreed repayment amount so I was in front the option to make payments has disappeared. I have a WeChat going with them to try and resolve it but they are very slow to respond when I update them and answer their questions
overhauling towers has been subject to illness this week with all of us having to take time off work/school at some point - starting to finally feel a little more human today but get tired very easily, I now have 9 days off work to relax and enjoy with family so have some time to recover
starting to think ahead to 2025 - my car needs its MOT by end of Jan, it’s an older car and my first one after passing my test earlier this year so I’m hoping it makes it through ok but rather than debt overpayments for the next few weeks I’m going to pop the money to one side incase the MOT throws anything up and pray it sails through either with no issues or only minor ones 🤞🏻Starting debt total £5120.21

Keep going your doing well on the survey front every little helps.
I tend to drop a payment off c.c every other day it might only be a quid or two but all helps.2 -
Back into the spreadsheet and debt repayment mode today now Christmas is done
made an overpayment to debt #9 of £62 bringing the balance down to £675 which is currently my next mini target to clear. I’ve set myself the aim of having it cleared by the end of April at the latest
I have now taken 13 steps on my 100 steps to debt freedom and floured another 2 squares in on my tracker, it’s slow progress but slow and steady is fine by me
I’ve joined the debt free 2025 challenge but have set myself challenges as half of my current debt with the aim of being debt free from all creditors in 2 years, this year I am aiming to clear £2254 which works out at £188 a month which feels achievable
I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas, we had a great time in the overhauling house and are now in that chill in between phase, I am back at work Monday so making the most of the next few days to really relaxStarting debt total £5120.21

Paid a set debt payment of £20 plus an additional £25 to debt #9 today. This was another step on my 100 steps to debt freedom - I’m now 14 steps along the journey
Debt #9 now has a balance of £650 which is my current priority to overpay and clear as quick as I can
I’m back at work today although went to the office and it was so quiet that I came home at lunch and am now working from the sofa with a tub of chocolates for company
I am doing the same again tomorrow as need to be on site in the morning, off New Year’s Day and then back in thurs/fri but will work from home at least 1 of them
we don’t have any plans for new years this year but since it’s midweek and my only day off plus we have all been unwell, I think it will be a very low key one maybe with a takeaway and a movie or tv show and an early night which is honestly my idea of a great night anywayStarting debt total £5120.21

Final scheduled payments for the month have gone out today so signatures updated
I’ve paid £191.70 so far this month and it’s only the 2nd
payments will slow down now as anything spare will be left in my account at its MOT month. I’m hoping all will be ok as I don’t feel any issues with the car when driving so hopefully there is nothing major needed
back to work today, I went to the office but my reason for being there in person got cancelled and it was so cold that I’ve headed back home to finish the day off here where it’s much warmer
should be a gentle easing back into work for the rest of the week as a lot of people from my team are still off so I can use the time to make sure all my projects are up to date and organised
I’ve got the last of the Christmas festivities booked in for this weekend with a panto trip and meal out with some of the family which I am looking forward to before the grind of trying to juggle everything starts up again
I am going to try and be much more health conscious this year as would like to lose some weight so I am avoiding the junk food from yesterday, quite difficult when there is still so much Christmas chocolate and goodies in the house but I’m feeling in the right mindset to make some positive changes so hopefully they stickStarting debt total £5120.21

I’ve used MyFitnessPal in the past with success so will see how I go and if I struggle will use it again. My diet from regular meals is really healthy so i think it’s just a matter of cutting back on the junk and I would like to increase my exercise
Until recently I worked a very active job that would see me hit 20-25k steps a day easily and now I sit at a desk all day. I also passed my driving test this year so walk so much less and it’s all had an impact on my fitness
I was back in the gym Saturday, had planned to go Sunday too but my car is currently not moving off the drive due to snow
schools are closed here today so youngest is at home, I’ve changed to a work from home day, no point trying to get to the office when the roads are like this. All public transport is currently not running so the roads can’t be great
means I am still laid in bed and can have a slower start to the day 🙂
nothing to report money wise, all bills are paid, all debt payments are paid and I’m now just going to aim for low spends through the rest of the month and hope I might have some more left for further overpayments towards the end of the monthStarting debt total £5120.21

Wow what a busy couple of weeks
I’ve not really had much time recently and haven’t been on as often as I should, I find posting and reading other diaries helps keep my mind focused so will aim to get into the habit more
my car passed it’s mot this week which was great news, advisory on one tyre which is going to need replacing in the near future
money wise all bills have been paid, last food shop for the month was done yesterday and I’m on the count down to payday
Positive for the month is that I have managed to afford everything even though my last pay was early and I had to use some of it towards Christmas
Negative, I have worked away this week for work and out expenses on my credit card, I will get a chunk of them back but I did go out for drinks with colleagues on two of the nights which won’t be refunded
i am still on track with debt repayments and my own personal challenges
it feels like such a long time since payday and I’m looking forward to getting back into a routine money wise and trying to reduce spends

Oops, again a post after way longer than I should
life it just so hectic at the moment
Debt Busting is still ongoing and my debt is now down to £3560.81 which is all going in the right direction
i am very much aware that my actions over the past year or so have had a huge impact on my credit score and I would really like to own a house at some point in the future so I made the decision last month to start doing all my day to day spending on a cc which I am then paying off
its interest free so not costing me anything and I really feel that it is helping me to budget better
I now have my current account for bills and the weekly main food shop but am putting everything else on the cc which is allowing me to track my spending and where it goes and also helping me to consider purchases
I am by no means perfect just yet but when I look at the spends for this month on it I can see which ones are living expenses I expect to have and which are unnecessary. Mainly my midweek top ups, this week I have spent £35.62 in supermarkets through the week which is just ridiculous really given all lunches and evening meals are accounted for in the main shop apart from some fresh fruit/veg/bread/milk mid week which really should be in the £10-£15 range depending on what is needed
I am going to look to significantly reduce this going forward - I am toying with the idea of a food shop delivery every 4 days rather than on a Sunday morning with me then popping to the shops, I pay for an Asda delivery pass so get unlimited deliveries with it
I personally think that would work out better for us but think my partner would disagree, something for me to ponder and then discuss with him I guess. The main drawback would be deciding when to have it delivered, I prefer morning slots as it gets picked earlier in the day when the shelves are likely to be fuller so means less subs but through the week my work schedule can change so I don’t have set wfh days, it all depends on what meetings I have
I shall leave it at that for now and try and make an effort to update more frequentlyStarting debt total £5120.21

Forgot to add, with how hectic everything is at the minute I have really tried to simplify things so I’ve stopped tracking any challenges I was on and have gone for keeping track of spends and my debt balances
I think I got a little carried away and was starting lots of challenges that I just couldn’t keep track of so a back to basics approach is what I will do for now and hope I continue to find it easier to manage
also to add to the above… since changing my spending to my cc I’ve seen my credit score raise by just over 100 points, it’s still below average but now only just rather than being really poorStarting debt total £5120.21
Current debt total £3560.811
