I was just updating my professional/uniform fees tax relief online. Does anyone know if I can include the cost of training courses that I've paid for myself?
Thanks

To further my knowledge in specific areas of my work. It's a requirement of my job that I keep up to date and undertake continuous professional development, but I chose and funded the specific courses myself.Dazed_and_C0nfused said:For exactly what purpose?

Well it's not always easy to get a claim accepted by HMRC (assuming you don't meet the criteria for Self Assessment) but this might be worth a read.

Thanks, on reading this I'm unclear if I'd be eligible or not but it looks like more hassle than its worth if I'd have to fight them for it.

It's the same principle as claiming tax relief on any other business expense. If it's needed for your employment then your employer should be paying for it.TinyPomegranate said:Thanks, on reading this I'm unclear if I'd be eligible or not but it looks like more hassle than its worth if I'd have to fight them for it.0
