Mortgage In Principle application - Online only?

Hello,

Are there any lenders that will do an official Mortgage In Principle via an online only application?

I've had Mortgage In Principles done in the past, and it is so painful sitting on the phone for them, then all the chaser calls afterwards asking how's my house hunt coming along etc, then I feel bad that I haven't found anywhere yet, etc  :D

I've never had one question asked before that I couldn't have written in an online form...

Thanks!

Nationwide allow a DIP to be completed online:

    https://www.nationwide.co.uk/mortgages/decision-in-principle/

That was our first step to getting our mortgage on our current home.

I've always banked with Halifax, so I've always gone to them first by default, and the application is so painful over the phone, I've always assumed that over the phone was the norm for getting a Mortgage In Principle.

Then once I've found a home to buy, I would shop around for better rates.

That kind of sounds like I've bought loads of homes in my life, but really I've done it once.
  • Me again.  Any more suggestions on this please?
I've got Nationwide on my list so far, but would prefer a few options so I can read reviews and pick the best one
  • You could always spend an hour going on to all the banks and building society's websites to find out.
