in Cutting tax
I submitted a tax return in June for 23/24 and was due around £1770.
I requested a refund but it never went pending and my tax code was adjusted PAYE to something like 1750L
Dues this mean instead of being being able to request as a lump sum amount I'm just being paid it back via my tax code in the current tax year?

Wins 2011: Carlisle Utd Tickets (twice!), Baby Food Hamper, Straighteners, Chugginton Toy

No, it is normal to also adjust the followings years tax code so hopefully it is an ongoing thing you claimed for.
You need to chase the actual 23/24 refund with HMRC0 -

The new tax code is just trying to keep the current tax year up-to-date, probably in response to how you have completed a specific question near the end of your return.0
