Waitrose Receipt - Account on File Registration

I redeemed a gift card at Waitrose and paid the difference on debit card. Whether that matters or not, I'm not sure, I was interested to know what "Account on File Registration Details" means at the bottom of the receipt? It then states Registration Successful and prints a Token ID.

Presumably the gift card was logged on your account ? Or you gave them your Waitrose loyalty card?Or if it’s a John Lewis card maybe it means that Waitrose is on the account therefore ok to redeem the card there.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Thanks for the reply, as far as I know the gift card was not registered, also I forgot to mention this was in a physical store. I noticed someone had asked on twitter/x a while ago, but Waitrose never replied. I've not got their loyalty card. Strange.
