On secondment. Substantive role had pay-rise

Hi. I’ve been on secondment for almost 2 years.
Earlier in the year, my substantive role had a mid-year pay rise of around 8%. Nothing was mentioned to myself and another team member who has come from the same role.
Company has just announced the blanket yearly pay-rise. At 3%.
Where do I stand legally with being paid my substantive role salary? I would have thought, if my substantive role had a payrise, I should get the same. As I still technically work for said substantive role, but I’m on loan to the seconded role.
Please help! I would like a solid argument to make before approaching my line about the issue.

Thanks 🙏🏻

Are you being paid more for being in the seconded role?  Is that amount still more than what your previous colleagues are now being paid?  If so I think there's no case to argue.  If you aren't being paid more and your colleagues are ahead of the game then I would say you have something to discuss.  But that might be outlined in the T&Cs of the secondment.

Are you getting a secondment allowance?

Does your original role have fixed salaries or individually graded?

When I did my secondment the contract stated that it took my base salary (£15k) and added a secondment allowance to achieve a total salary of £25k. Our salaries were individually negotiated so there would be no universal increase, though it may be said there was an average of 8%. With how my deal was structured though it would mean my base salary went up to £16,200 but my total secondment stays at £25k. Given some things, eg profit share, was based on your base salary there would have been an advantage to it but not in the normal monthly pay
