But I've managed to drag myself to safety (still windy though).....
Hi everyone,
This is my diary to becoming debtfree. I've recently received some inheritance money and will be paying off some of.my debt. Please take a look at my spreadsheet. I'm due to receive a payrise in Jan of around an extra £100 per month which should help slightly.

Here's to becoming unsecured debt free!!!

Hi - firstly welcome, and good luck to you on your journey.
QQs on your spreadsheet: does green indicate the ones you could clear with the inheritance money? Have you compiled a full SOA to see where your current budget is going? Are you leaving yourself enough for an emergency fund, and budgeting to cover the regular expenses (insurance, MOTs, holidays, birthdays etc)?
One piece of advice - I appreciate you're expecting a pay raise, and I certainly hope you get it, but don't bank on any of that extra budget until you actually have it. Then it's just a nice (un)expected bonus!0 -
I agree. I'd focus on the debts with highest interest rate and then if have any left over focus on getting utilisation low in hopes of a future balance transfer. Are any of your debts on 0%?
Have you put a SOA together to make sure you don't get in any more debt? Have any of the debts defaulted or have you been making all your payments?*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200
*Virgin Credit Card - £3552.50 - £0
*Natwest - £1828.35 -£0.00
Barclaycard - £2315.25 - £0.00
Creation Finance - £960.32 £840
*Total debt - £8040/£11641.17*
Savings
*Savings Buffer - £100/£1500
*Emergency Fund - £1500/£1500
