Whilst yesterday started out fair the rain arrived by teatime and hammered down all night. The very pink sky this morning doesn't bode well for the day ahead. The wind is already very noisy. I think it's time to bring out tights again.Yesterday I cooked up some sausages, fried some potatoes with onion and scrambled an egg over the top, very yummy. There's enough left for today so still no shopping. I had a bit of a techie problem with my laptop which baffled me for ages, still no idea but did a workaround which keeps me a bit happier for now.The mangled grass at the back looks better already, it does bounce back quickly so I feel less guilty looking at it. 😀
I hope that all our poorlies are feeling better.9 -
Morning all and thanks for starting us off GersChance of a few showers today. Autumn's definitely hereMade 2 pies, 1 crumble and with leftover pastry a couple of turnovers with all the apples yesterday. Today I think I'll peel and freeze some to use at a later date. Popping down to the local Library today as they collect unwanted electrical stuff and I've a few old computer mouses I found during a clear out and don't want any more. Also checking whether this one has access to a family tree programme on their computers as I'm eyeing this up for something to do during the winter months. I started it a couple of years ago and came to a dead end so am going to try again and hope I get a bit further this time.Have a good day all x9

Good morning all
Thank you for the start @Ger
Been awake since about 2 am which seems to be the norm for me. Read lavender helps with sleep so will make a couple of lavender wands.
Yesterday morning was torrential rain but it dried up in the afternoon. Still lots of tomatoes to be picked. Probably make some tomato soup.
Printer not working, it sounds as if it's working, but doesn't do anything. Thought it might be the ink as it hasn't been used in a while. Found three new coloured cartridges no black. Do I buy another black, quite expensive, or buy another printer ? My techie skills are non existent.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.10 -
Morning folks from a very blustery and wet caravan site. I hope I am chained down! There are snippets of blue sky emerging but the wind isn't going anywhere.
My feet will be up reading for most of the day. I've just started the latest Victoria Hislop book The Figurine and it promises to be as good as her others. Someone else on here loves her books but can't recall who!
Take care all and Hugs for the poorlies and sad xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Morning all, windy & wet here so back to normal after 2 good days. It's lucky DH & DS2 have reached the inside work of the extension they're working on now, though a late start as the van had to be taken in to the garage first thing, something called a wet belt, which if it isn't done can result in a new engine!I thought I'd posted yesterday but didn't- not sure why, it was a slow day. I did some more cooking for the freezer with mince.DH loves basic mince and gravy with chips! Boring
Then I thought about your post @Gers ,getting mixed up with bol sauce/ chilli so scooped my portion out and quickly made it into chilli! I think it may be some form of fish tonight.I did want to go to the library and go on the market but I might as well stay in with this weather :|I've had a decent run around with the hoover etc. & washing so may catch up on my soaps whilst DH isn't here, he's not a fan.
@TopsyTurphy I was pleased to see that your DS is walking now, progress is progress however slow, and it's been a long road to recovery for him, poor lad.Enjoy your holiday!Take care everyone:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone just come in from a cleaning job I didn’t feel like but I was alright once I was there back in the swing of it now it’s wet and wild here I hope it gets better for next week as we are having a week in Northumberland we are only dog walking and wandering about but it will be nice if we stay dry doing it . I’m making a mince dinner for tonight with Yorkshire pudding and veg I’m trying to use up and not spend anything Silver Oldie I’m another that has no technical skills in fact most things baffle me . TA I spotted that book on my kindle I’ve never read any of her books but it looked interesting I’ve got a couple of Simon Mcleave to read while I’m away love his books I can’t read them fast enough I’ve saved these . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8

Morning
Very dark and dreary here.
Only venturing out to dog walk and post cards. Talking of dog walking, OH took big dog out last night for a run in nearby fields, returning home when it was getting dark. This morning I received a text from an unknown number saying they had found a dog tag with this number on. Yep, it had come off when big dog was rolling about on the grass. How lucky was that, and so nice of someone to pick it up and return it.
Chicken curry for dinner tonight, chicken and chips with a pot of curry sauce on the side for OH. He doesn't eat rice or pasta (foreign food)!
Have a good day everyone.
Love to all x

Late to the party here
Weather is foul but I've dog walked and been to get shopping, wood and gas for the campervan.
Really need to be doing things that need to be done outside but as electricity and rain don't mix I'll bide my time!
Best wishes to all

Hello everyone
I'm late today. Happy to say that DD and little one got home last night and I had lovely cuddles this morning. Little one showed me her scars and her new tubey, told me the names of all her new nurse friends and about eating again 'I just felt a bit hungry so I thought I'll just start eating now.' Lots of cuddles and kisses and lots of her chat I've missed so much. I hope so much she stays well now.
They went to see mam and dad in hospital before they came home yesterday, little one had left him one of her cuddly toys to look after him. Dad is just the same today and mam seems fine too.
It's been so windy here today - the black bins were all over the road when I came home from work x
